LIDL in German means “bargepole” well it doesn’t really but you must be mad to even consider buying any electrical goods from LIDL.

The returns policy at LIDL is if it costs over £10 they will not refund any faulty or unwanted goods back onto the card you paid with, they send you a cheque from head office.

But they get away with it because the majority of their customers are old, tight or lonely people that smell of urine or general mutants.

This is true, as we found out to our cost last year when we bought a large tent from them that had faulty stitching. Must be in breach of Sale of Goods Act surely, refunds are normally made via the same method you paid. ie: cash for cash, card, back to card etc.

The stroppy manager wouldn`t budge with us, even though it was faulty (small holes in the fabric due to shoddy machining, but obviously would make it prone to leakage). We kept it in the end, had a few weekends away with it, then sold it and bought a better one.

I`d never buy any major purchase from them. Aldi all the way, their returns policy is second to none.

Any shop that flogs cherry Jaffa Cakes is all right in my estimation. And contrary to popular belief, none of that colourful description of Lidl customers applies to me. Except maybe the "tight" bit... and possibly the mutant bit as well.

There are no ribbons for the Battle of the Bulge!
Precisely.

I may well fit into the `smell of urine` category...

...but only after I have been shopping there :D

FFS why should they refund simply because after buying you decide you do not want it :/

Fine if it does not do the job it was intended but, again, because you do not want it ????? . Why on earth should any retailer refund you because you decided after purchase you wish to return it for no other reason than you do not want it.

They shouldn`t, if they do it`s as a good will gesture, not because they have to. But the other part of his post, and what mine referred to, also pointed out the other thing that it`s not just if you decide you don`t like it. They adopt this attitude with faulty goods too, which you do have a right to return and expect to be refunded (or exchanged, which was no good in my case as out of stock).

I ignored the rest of the post by WK as he then compounded his stupidity by stating "They send out a cheque". Forgive my ignorance but just where is the problem there. FFS now it appears that getting a refund via cheque is grounds for criticism.

Because I believe it states in UK law that you have the right to change your mind and return a product within 28 days of purchase and be entitled to a refund
