RE: ADVICE=RE=LCD TV`S

The new Samsung 32" is HD ready and would meet your spec. Slightly more expensive at £850. Getting good reviews over at AV Forums.

I got the 46" Samsung DLP but the wife said it is too big >:(

Now going for the LCD Samsung

RE: GPS Speed Camera Detector under £80 at Woolies

Like I suspect most people (just look at the traffic flow) I speed every time I get in the car. I am unlikely to get caught by a camera as I know where they all are, so like the rest of the traffic I slow down and immediately speed up again.
I don`t agree with cameras as they are a cash generator for unsuspecting people. If a camera was positioned in an obvious place in a dangerous area so traffic slowed then no problem it has done its job but this is rarely the case. Cameras on straight motorways for example.
I think the whole issue of speed on the roads needs to be addressed for modern cars. I would happily drive 20mph within a (say) mile radius of a school but I think the motorway speed limit should be increased. With ABS,etc cars could quite happily go faster and still be within safe stopping distances.
Why are motorways not taught as part of your driving test then you wouldn`t have people driving in the middle lane causing frustration if they had been taught properly how to drive on one.
And finally get rid of "International speed limit applies" signs and put up a correct mileage sign. Half the time you are never sure if what speed you are supposed to be doing. What qualifies as a built up area?

RE: Hi Def XBOX

Have managed to do the Hi Def software mod. Can then go live no problem

RE: Does the UK have High Definition tv`s (HDTV)?

Sky have announced the key thing is the socket (whether HDMI or DVI) will have to be HDCP enabled. The majority of DLP sets coming through now are capable of handling this.

So the TV is available you just can`t do much with it unless you connect a PC with downloaded Hi-Def content

RE: Retrieving email from a slave hard drive??

You need to find your original file called inbox.dbx. Quickest way is to do a search. Location is normally Documents/"user name"/local settings/apps data/identities/"number string"/microsoft/outlook express/inbox.dbx
You`ll need to enable view hidden folders in your tools - folder options menu.

In your new outlook express program do File - Import and go to this location. E-mails should be now copied in

Hi Def XBOX

Can the XBox be modded to play in Hi Def and be used on line or does the Hi Def have to be turned off

RE: Hotmail - Error on Page HELP!

RE: Hotmail - Error on Page HELP!

I keep getting an error about an object missing

RE: Hotmail - Error on Page HELP!

Didn`t work, thanks anyway

Hotmail - Error on Page HELP!

I can access my hotmail account but on the page listing my mails it finishes at the bottom left on the MS status bar saying "Done but with error on page"

If I try to read a mail it doesn`t open, the page stays where it is and I get "error on page" message on the status bar.

I can access my mails no problem on a different PC.

All help and ideas appreciated as I can`t fix this and I`m trying to avoid a relaod of the OS.

PS The System Restore doesn`t fix it on XP

RE: How to get the Nokia 7600 for just £29 with a whole years worth of free calls and texts

Iy you loose the 3G signal and end up on 2G will your free minutes still apply or is it only for the 3 network.

How good is 3G coverage now?

RE: help please - i-pod digital music player thingy

Hi Katie

I own an I-River so can tell you about that.

1) When you download CD`s off the internet they will have the tracks/names etc downloaded with them. If you burn your CD to the PC it won`t. There are a lot of free databases on the web that will do this for you though, CDEX is one.

2) USB 2 connection is very quick. You are looking at seconds for an album

3) I-River does not require a PC. It has optical/line in port so can be connected direct to your Hi-Fi.

I chose I-river over IPOD because
1) Battery life is better (will he really remember to charge it every day)
2) FM radio
3) Optical out line - I now use my I-river as a digital jukebox via my AV amp
4) It can be connected directly to any PC and recognised as an extra hard drive without any other software. This means it can also be used for data storage

RE: It`s back - Nokia 7600 £4.99/month contract on 3

RE: Help needed from PC expert - Can`t load my restore CD

There should still be some sort of .exe file on the restore CD that could be run from the DOS prompt.

Could check this before formatting your drive

RE: Help needed from PC expert - Can`t load my restore CD

Go into Control Panel and Add/Remove programs. You should have a tab for craete start up disk. Follow the instructions.

Now boot using the start up disk. Request the option for CD support. You should get a DOS prompt.

Format the c: drive.

Load Restore disk

Remember to back up any important data first, this isn`t on the restore disk!!

I`ve had the 20G Iriver for a couple of weeks and it`s a great piece of kit.
The optical out also sounds great through the AV Amp.
