RE: 24

I bought my kids 24" wheel dual suspension bikes a couple of days ago, from a shop (SterlingHouse.co.uk ) for £75 each (no disc brakes though!) and saw the same problem with the saddle post, so the shop changed the posts for shorter ones AND gave me the longer ones for when they get a bit taller.
The photo of the one you bought does show a LONG seat stem. Great bike for the price though.
Probably all you need is to pop into a halfords and get a shorter seat stem, or hacksaw it as suggested above.

Thanks, done. Really quick and short survey as well, about 10 - 15 questions only.

RE: New ipod 20gb colour

If it is any help to the actual question then I would suggest buying direct from Apple to get the free engraving on the case, as i did when buying one for my daughter. You MAY save £1 or £2 elsewhere, but the engraving is well worth it as a security feature if nothing else.

Now back to the Anal daisy jokes, sorry for the interuption ....

RE: 2-way radios - £8.73!!!!!

Ordred these on 17th .. got text alert to collect 20 - 22nd, went into Enfield today to be told they were now £24.99 and no movement on price!
Came home, used link to find them still at £8.73, phoned customer services and after a few minutes was put on hold to be told that I can collect Monday for £8.73! RESULT.
I now regret tearing their customer care policy poster off the wall and giving it to the supervisor in store.........

ICE .. not in car entertainment, but a really good idea

This was forwarded to me: I think it`s a really good idea, especially given yesterdays events

East Anglian Ambulance Service have launched a national "In case of Emergency (ICE)" campaign with the support of Falklands war hero Simon Weston and in association with Vodafone`s annual life savers award.

The idea is that you store the word "ICE" in your mobile phone address book, and against it enter the number of the person you would want to be contacted "In Case of Emergency". In an emergency situation ambulance and hospital staff will then be able to quickly find out who your next of kin are and be able to contact them.

It`s so simple - everyone can do it. Please do. Please will you also forward this to everybody in your address book, it won`t take too many forwards` before everybody will know about this.

There`s a valid link at http://www.eastanglianambulance.com/content/news/newsdetail.asp?newsID=646104183 and you can google for it

RE: Cheapest place to buy MP3 tracks??

Disregarding the obvious (Kazaa etc) free file sharing sites, I find that the best way of getting MP3 tracks is to rip tracks from my CD collection, or perhaps borrow CD`s from mates or even the library if necessary and use the free file ripping software to convert those tracks you want to MP3 available at:

RE: Which MP3 Player?

Prepare to see me shot down in flames!

I think IPods are fantastic, but for what they actually are they are overpriced. The huge advantage over a basic MP3 player is the ability to quickly go to the track of your choice and, of course, the huge storage capability.

Honestly, do you really NEED 5,000 tracks to get you to work or to listen to in the gym? I doubt it. If you do need that many for the daily commute, MOVE! I have a 256MB MP3 player with 74 tracks on it, which (and this is a personal opinion remember) I find more than adequate even for a day on the beach. I have no idea whose make it is as i bought it from Ebay from a seller in Hong Kong. Buy a cheap player of at least 256MB, get a half decent pair of headphones and you are away. I bought a hard case with built in speaker (£6.99) from e bay and those 74 tracks become the music centre for an entire holiday.

As for cheapest tracks, see my other post to your secondary question!

RE: FREE 2 MAN TENT!

Well it was certainly worth a try, even if we did assume this would be the outcome!

I don`t understand the call for the mods to clodse this thread. I agree that it was always a small chance of it working, but a tent for nothing is a bargain surely? :/

I have noticed in this thread and others that some members seem to get quite irrate with each other. It is only bargain hunting, it really isn`t that important. Chill out. 8)

RE: very cheap, free or even better DVD`s.

Point taken, it wan`t the revelation about buying cheap I was keen to emphasise, but the method. 45p is still a bargain though!

Since that post i have had a few other sucesses with football DVD`s for 99p, so even if you take the reselling out of the equation entirely, this method does uncover bargains.

Click here. YOU ARE THE SEARCH ENGINE!

very cheap, free or even better DVD`s.

A friend just showed me this idea, and 2 minutes later I had 8 films on 4 DVDs for a total, including postage, of £3.60 FOR ALL 8!

Do an e bay search for DVDs finishing in the next hour, going for 1p - £2 and you will usually find some with no bids. Choose what you want, watch them then relist them! He generally pays no more than 99p + £1 postage, watches whatever it is then if he doesn`t love it, relists it at £3 with free postage! Nearly always makes a profit and watches loads of DVDs he wouldn`t usually have seen.

My eight are:
Strictly Ballroom
Carry on Doctor
Human Traffic
Death Train
The Cruel Deep
Jet
The Last Line of Defense
Storm

I accept that none of these are classics, but at 45p each delivered surely a bargain?

Do try the signature link, a great outdoor sport/hobby/pastime.
