RE: PROLINE LVD1580WD

Seeing as you asked over a year ago now, this probably comes much to late for you. After buying this old TV on clearance this evening for a bargain price I attempted to find a multiregion code for it and couldn`t like yourself.....soooo....opened the unit up to see what integral parts it has.

It contains the same B.SP.DM1A DVD board as the Matsui LM15N5DVD, and I soon found the region hack works just the same as follows!

1: Switch on the DVD - without a DVD in it.

2: When "no disc" appears press the following sequence of numbers from the remote control: 9735

3: you will get a menu screen select the region you want from the region settings...
Choose the region (0 is universal)

4. exit setup

Enjoy!

Maybe online, but the original poster did actually state that they spotted the offer INSTORE, anyone else spotted these instore, sounds a good bargain 67 disks for £4.97

GTA Liberty City Stories @ HMV Online £16.99 PSP or £12.99 PS2 Delivered

Great offer for one week only at HMV GTA Liberty City Stories only £12.99 on PS2 or £16.99 on PSP delivered. Unfortunately for myself I spotted this deal online after buying it on PSP instore for still a very good price of £19.99 (try finding it new at retail for less than £29.99), I presume you can get the PS2 version instore for a couple of quid more than £12.99.

http://www.hmv.co.uk/hmvweb/navigate...1&pPageID=2107

Don`t forget to use Quidco for 6% cashback online.

Also for all PSP bargain hunters, they have World Tour Soccer game for only £9.99, been playing it, excellent game for the money, really playable (same price online and instore)

RE: 32" Medion HD Ready at TJ Hughes for £399

Well, as suspected from that review, as with most budget LCD`s the integrated tuner doesnt give great images, but looking forward for those that have not got a LCD yet, I think its not a bad deal, build quality and analogue picture quality aside, hook anything up via component or HDMI (dvd player or games console) and I am sure it wouldnt be a bad budget buy...plus with analogue signals being switched off in couple of years the integrated tuner wouldnt be of use then anyway...but there again in a couple of years would a big brand 32" HD LCD be £399 anyway! For those with a television on the way out right now however, looking for a cheap replacement, may be worth considering.

RE: 32" Medion HD Ready at TJ Hughes for £399

Wow, thats a very good spot, and can be viewed here http://www.tjhughes.co.uk/mall/productpage.cfm/TJHughes/89032799999/71748

I am sure that will be of use to peeps, not sure if this is the model that was being sold at woolworths that didnt get favourable reviews, but a 32" HD ready tv complete with hdmi input for £399 is definitely a bargain even without some of the fancier noise reduction techniques used by bigger brand models (such as my samsung).

You can`t use this on electronics.. if anyone else`s first thought was to preorder a ds lite...

That was EXACTLY my first thought damn lol

Has anyone bought one of these TVs from Toysrus or Woolworths ?

Are they any good ? A short review would be great.

And the bargain is?

RE: Creative Labs Vision M 30GB MP3/Video (Green Colour at this price only) £185 @ Ebuyer

Quote:
Green is back up to £210.

Blue is now £184.

White is £195.

I`m very confused!

So am I...All of them are now back up to £209.99, the only thing I can think of is stock rotation, trying to get even stocks of all colours. Was a great bargain whilst it lasted, If I had not have ordered a white one one the weekend special for £199.99 then I would have been really tempted by the blue one earlier at that price.

RE: The Simpson - Season 5 - £9.99 delivered

Quote:
For some reason it only works when you remove the DVD Reviewer frame - for me anyway???

Or just click on the link you have provided then look on the right hand side where it says more buying choices, click on that then the offer from Amazon Jersey appears.

Thanks for the post, shame I already bought it on Region 1 before it was even released here, I must learn to be patient with Simpsons Season releases and buy them when they are bargains, problem is I just can`t wait that long!

Creative Labs Vision M 30GB MP3/Video (Green Colour at this price only) £185 @ Ebuyer

Absurdly cheap price for this 5th Gen Ipod Color beating player. £184.39

http://www.ebuyer.com/product/108154/product_info/rb/19072726139

I ordered the weekend from Ebuyer a White Vision M on a weekend special offer of £199.99 (now back up to £209.99), which in itself is the cheapest online price I could find in the UK, but if you can live with the fact that I guess Ebuyer are selling off the green ones because they are not selling well (Only 26 left in stock at time of writing, probably due to the low price) £184.39 is a great deal.

Personally I couldnt live with the green one, however some people may like it, and don`t forget you could always customise it with a Silicone Skin.

After deliberating which colour to get myself I found that with the rather bright EL Blue key illumination, with the choice of colours that Creative do (Black, White, Pink, Green & Light Blue) really the illumination just doesn`t look right on the Blue & Green ones.

Whatever though, at that price its still a winner, and much better than the Ipod 30GB Video Color.....Far better screen image, has FM Radio built in, 4 hours video playback instead of Ipods 2 hours.

RE: Half Price Panasonic (Freeview) Set Top Box

Well my father is looking for a new freeview box, and I was going to get this Panasonic from Argos today for him but after checking out reviews the better name doesn`t always apply, Panasonic DVD Recorders are great, but check out customer reviews of the TU-CT 41, not favourable at all.

http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/article/ds25409.html

After much deliberation and checking out more reviews opted to get him the Wharfedale DV832B, £34.99, doesnt lock up, have timer problems or look as ugly.

RE: Digital Satellite Dish & Receiver Set - £59.99 at Lidl from Thurs.

Any pointers as to where/how it may be found. The last time I searched I came up with nothing.

http://comagforum.zapto.org

Register there, I believe you have to make a JTAG cable, open up your unit, set the jumper pin inside your SL65 to be able to flash the firmware. Haven`t attempted this myself as yet, but this forum has all necessery instructions on finding and building a JTAG cable as well as firmware and Keys.

RE: Digital Satellite Dish & Receiver Set - £59.99 at Lidl from Thurs.

Thanks for updating the info!, wouldn`t want any noobs destroying their boxes. There is revised firmware out there for the SL65 not that I have tried it myself yet, I believe its not so easy to use and there are not as many keys for channel unlocking.

RE: Digital Satellite Dish & Receiver Set - £59.99 at Lidl from Thurs.

USERS BEWARE

I wouldn`t seriously attempt what Choagy has stated above, the start of this thread was for the newly revised SL65 unit that Lidl sold last August.

I am sure Choagy your intent was good, but seriously if anyone tries hacked SL55 firmware on the SL65 its likely to destroy the box. :/

Then seriously Bob will not be your mothers brother, he will be your mofo :¦

RE: CD WOW TIME OUT

Thanks to the OP for this, tried this myself yesterday and came out trumps, got my £8.75 voucher....and my mom always told me that honesty pays :/

RE: choices UK - X files bargain (12.95 each!) and others

Or for those that prefer instore bargains you can buy the above titles for £1 extra each, eg X Files per season £14.99, Millennium £15.99 at your local WHSmiths I noticed.

X files gotta work out a hell of a lot cheaper than those ridiculous £7.99 magazines for 4 episodes just launched! Anyone want to buy my old X Files VHS boxsets :¦

RE: TESCO 20% off charts dvd & games - this week only

Yep confirmed myself this evening instore, I believe until next Wednesday 20% off all chart games, DVD`s and CD`s. Bought Simpsons Season 7 myself, strangely it showed 29.97 on the shelf but scanned through the till at 27.97 and with 20 % discount of 5.60 total was only 22.37, many thanks to the OP for bringing this to my attention, cannot find a better deal at the moment for Simpsons Season 7.

RE: Cheap (£11.99 for 10) Panasonic DVD RAM

Same here, I got supersaver delivery myself by adding something else, but before ordering I noticed it said between 1-2 weeks delivery, estimated dispatch is 28-30th of January, however I am not in any rush to receive these.

I have 5 DVD-RAM discs currently in use on my Panny recorder, I can wait for the other 10 then probably wont have to buy any more again seeing I record and erase stuff.

Still undeniably a bargain, but yes point taken about delivery if you need them in a hurry.

I guess if anyone is in a hurry just buy one DVD-RAM disc from a normal retail store and order these the price of these will pay off from the wait in the long run. DVD-RAM discs RRP has not reduced in price in the 14 months I have owned my DVD recorder, so any offer on these I think should be snapped up. Probably the only disadvantage I feel to owning a DVD-RAM recorder over a DVD-RW +/- recorder.

RE: Cheap (£11.99 for 10) Panasonic DVD RAM

Excellent price, thanks to the OP, won`t be needing any more ram discs now for my Panny DVD recorder, added a Far Side calendar at £2.99 to enable free delivery, seemed pointless paying out £3 delivery charge if I could find something to bulk up the order, lots of 2006 calendars I notice on offer.

RE: Acer AL1916S 19" TFT Monitor - £149.99 in Argos

That is a great price for an analogue 19" TFT, I bought a 19" just before xmas and wanted a DVI input, best deal I came up with was a Medion 19" from Aldi, 8ms response time, DVI and analogue inputs, 3 years warranty, good build quality, excellent screen imaging, quick response time for games, DVI lead included and only £199 best deal I could find on a 19" with DVI input with such a quick response time. Check out your local Aldi they may have some left in stock, went on sale in October, but I picked one up just before xmas.

RE: Bluetooth Headset recommendations....?

If you haven`t yet bought one, then the Motorola HS-820 is a bargaineous £19.99 at Currys at the moment, got one for my wife xmas time, and is better than the HS-810 in the fact that it is rechargeable, and therefore doesn`t have a weighty battery in the unit on your ear at all times.

Motorola HS-820 Bluetooth Headset £19.99 @ Currys

Got one of these Headsets at Currys for my wifes new mobile phone at xmas, price is still at £19.99, cheapest by far deal I have seen on a branded Bluetooth headset. Price in Argos a stupidly high £59.99 and most retailers have it for £39.99. Note this is not just an online offer as I got one instore for £19.99 (Kidderminster Currys)

RE: Battle of Britain 2 disc set mispress

Yeah, shouldn`t this have been published in a more suitable forum on here like the DVD & Films forum, I am struggling to find the bargain in this myself :/

Maxell DVD-R 50pk Spindle £8.99 Delivered

Amongst many bargains in the Play.com sale. You may be able to get 50 disks elsewhere for £9 but I doubt at that price actually delivered, excellent deal, currently the top seller in their sale, get them now before they are all gone.

RE: Refurbished Nokia 3230

Sorry to hear some of you guys had trouble with O2 refurbished phones. I for one have ordered in total 4 refurbished phones from them and been happy. Firstly a Nokia 3100 for my dad for £10 a few months back that was as new, screen protector on. Secondly a Motorola V220 also as new with screen protector on (only problem was they forgot to send the manual/charger but posted those a few days later), naff phone, but sold it for £25 so made a profit!.

Then this week got both my wife and myself refurbished Samsung E720`s and very pleased with them, mine came through as new, my wife`s a slight scratch on the side and some peeling on the reflective Samsung logo, but nothing at all major particularly for the £59 each paid for them. Delivery free and prompt in all instances.

I guess the moral of the story with all this is when buying any refurbished phone that only has the manual and charger to check if the phone only comes with internal memory and not a mmc card slot as all the phones I have ordered don`t....else you won`t get such a bargain as you think when you weigh up the cost of buying the extras.

Certainly with the E720`s we have to get a data cable and headset for listening to mp3`s but with 80mb internal memory only, we are happy with them, until we run out of memory space!

RE: Refurbished (As New) o2 Samsung E720 - £59.99

This was an excellent bargain earlier today, but sadly now all gone from the O2 website, my wife was fortunate enough to order one earlier as her phone was getting somewhat long in the bluetooth (bad bad joke). :/

Thanks for the post!

RE: Bullseye Dvd Game

As Jim Bowen would say "super, smashing, great" :D

RE: Mario Smash Football Gamecube Bundle

Got mine today, brilliant deal, needed to get several other things from Argos besides that pushed the amount to over £100, so used the Gift Voucher blag at the till.

Woman asked how I would like the Gift vouchers, painfully watched as she had to print each of the 5 £20 voucher cards through the system, then she asked if I want it in a Xmas card, I told her no I was spending them now to get an extra gift voucher (first £10 voucher), the look of puzzlement on her face was extremely amusing, until my wife behind me grabbed the vouchers off me and proceeded to the next till to use them with our reservations and an extra £10 gift voucher was ours, love the two for the price of one on these! £100 shop, a neat pearl white gamecube at a bargain price and £20 in Argos vouchers in pocket. :D

If anyone is contemplating getting one of these that already has a Cube but wants a different colour, don`t hesitate, currently CEX (Computer Exchange) even though they are robbing dogs will take Gamecubes for £22 cash as well as Mario Smash football for another £22, that gets you £44 back straight away! £6 for a new cube with 12 months guarantee! Or if you cant live without Mario smash football, at least you get half the amount back of a new Cube...not bad at all really.

Many thanks to the OP for details on this.

RE: Mario Smash Football Gamecube Bundle

Thanks for the heads up on this femax, will no doubt get mine that has been reserved tomorrow with the free controller and memory card, great bargain.

Now just got to sell my black Gamecube...this offer too good to resist, that price for a excellent limited coloured Gamecube with a nice new 12 months warranty and a reasonable game for £49.99, and if I dont like the game that much can always trade it in for Resident Evil 4. Gamecube maybe in its last outing this christmas but with the new Zelda game to look forward to next year and it coloured to fit in with the Xbox 360 it certainly will look good on the shelf as well!

RE: Mario Smash Football Gamecube Bundle

Haven`t been to an Argos store yet, although have reserved this online and its coming up as £79.99 will it definitely be only £49.99 at checkout?, and if so was the offer only for today or will I be ok with this offer tomorrow?, as I say have not been in store to see the latest in-store brochure, it seems strange that the price instore would differ from the price online and in my reservation email, and we all know what Argos are like with mispriced goods :-¦
