Nice find, though rented these through lovefilm recently, was not really that impressed with the blu ray quality, hope they pump up the extended editions, however still great films

Yep just pickup up both toy storys on blu ray for 16.99, which I thinks a pretty good deal, seen as they are combo packs as well including the dvd copy as well

RE: MP3 Player With Inbuilt Speakers

Samsung used to do one with a slide up speaker on the back, whether you can still get them though. YP series, wife had one, not bad sound for small speaker.

RE: I know this is cheeky...anyone a Sky employee?

pm me, have a voucher code for new customers for free skyhd for friends and family , and standard install, just got in the post yesterday wont be using was going to throw it in the bin, usual rules apply, must take out 12 month contract and 10 per month hd, plus a standard subscription of 18 pounds, so minium cost should be 28 pounds a month. Though I expect there will be a bit of demand for sky hd before christmas with these vouchers,

RE: Dongles - Mobile Broadband

sister in law has one as bt wanted nearly 200 pounds to put a telephone line in with board band, does the job, 15 notes a month 3gb download limit 12 month contact a few months back, though do hammer you if you go over the limit. A few things to look at are, there are black spots where the dongle will switch to gprs rather than the faster broadband 3g service , if looking at a vodafone one they have a map showing slow connection areas. Am sure the other ones are the same but the vodafone has a usage monitor which I quite like. Dont get me wrong a dedicated land line would be better, but I remember a couple of years ago I was on a 1gb a month limit, did me fine. Not bad speeda and connection considering its using the mobile network., vast improvement over the early cards.

Toshiba ep30 massive drop on play

http://www.play.com/Electronics/Electronics/4-/3497129/Toshiba-HD-EP30-HD-DVD-Player/Product.html

Nice price, think you can still get the free discs as well, not sure when the offer runs out on that though.

RE: Waiting for HD-DVD Players to come down in price ? - What would you pay ?

they have started to drop already, with the free discs,, thats with the free discs as well can not remember if its till the end of jan or feb for the disc offer, def pay that, seen as I paid 199 for it in the first place. in nov >:( , though its a good machine. Anything around 80-100 mark think would be great buy, without the free discs.

RE: Have I bought into the wrong HD format?

After thinking about it for a bit, and viewing hd, and dvds, and after the annoucement of warner. I love my toshiba ep30 and it came out on my birthday so had the cash to spend, and will be keeping it, hd is stunning, dont regret buying the ep30 especially with the free discs and stuff, however after watching alot of my dvds upscaled especially the final cut of blade runner its stunning upscaled, a good dvd upscaler would have done me. It wouldnt surprise me if this is the way the market will go and dvd stays around for quite a while..

RE: Which laptop brand?

Yep dell, especially free delivery to the 9th of jan, though they are swamped at the moment so you will be looking at a upto a few weeks for delivery. A few codes knocking around, though min spends applicable, theres a 10 percent one, though you have to spend 599 on a base system which is out of your bracket.

Q3TCG81H5P8?BM expires 9/1/08 as well

RE: Have I bought into the wrong HD format?

Both formats great theres a place for both, though in my opinion as hd is the buzz word, its on everything, you wont find blu-ray ready/compat on your tvs etc. I think most people will be buying more hd dvd players, tescos have the ep30 on shelfs now. The qvc one mentioned is bascially has all the toshiba hardware under the bonnet and under a different brand name.

RE: Where Oh Where Could Little DS Be?

I could be wrong, though is it more expensive to stock the uk, then the rest of the world, I suppose distribs dont make a lot of profit on them, so ship in smaller numbers, even with a high demand.

RE: Where Oh Where Could Little DS Be?

RE: Toshiba HD-EP35 HD DVD regional Coding ??

On the previous models, yep can play hd dvds from the states, not region locked for hd format , guys with the ep 30 the model down are playing transformers from the states fine. Not able to play normal region 1 dvds on them, was some leaked firmware a while back for the older models to play region ones. So the answer Yes for the hd dvd format.

RE: advice required on upscaling dvd players

Well with 1080p, put your hands in your pockets again at get a tosh ep30 for 200 notes and make the most out of 1080p two free hd dvds and hdmi cable in the box, and pick another 5 on redemption, will upscale your old dvds as well.

RE: Philips DVDR610 - blast from the past!!

Reference disk, on my philips dvdr not the same model, theres a little hole under the drive unit on the bottom of the base, with a little white switch that solves blocked disc syndrome. Or you could take the top off. Also Try leaving it turned off for a few days with plug out of mains for a few days,

Thats a good price, original version and remastered in same box, 15 notes if you get all three, though the i am sure the mrs wouldnt be happy if i add another 3 copies of the films to my 12 various versions already. :(

RE: Can i link my external Hard drive to my Wii via usb......

There is some software coming out, in nov that will link the wii to pc wireless, so you use it as a kind of media centre, though can not find any reviews of it as yet.

RE: Struggling to find Wii stock?

Yep they are flying out the doors again, as xmas is closing. The problem is retailers are just getting deliveries every other week in small quants, as you have done pre-ordering seems to be the best option, put your name down somewhere you have one within a week.
