Having no doubt amused you all by what I`m about to buy (its for the wife - honest, she just loves it and its coming out in States in same week as her birthday) I`m dipping my toe into ordering from States for my first time (ok ok but only just got meself a multi region player), its coming out circa 20 quid at both of above - any thoughts on which to go for??

I just did a bit of checking for you.

DVD Pacific, using surface mail is £18.28 + £1.64 p&p = £19.92, using air mail is £18.28 + 3.29 p&p = £21.57

DVD Soon is £19.93 with free postage

As the set is over the £17.99/£18 threshold there is the distinct possibility that you will incur (sp?) additional Customs charges which may total as much as £10.

Sorry to put a dampener on this - but I`d say even with extra charges it`s more than likely to still be a lot cheaper than the R2 if and when it gets released

I belive the Waltons Series 1 is a five disc set. If so, then DVDPacific will charge £3.79 for the International Surface Mail option ( i.e. £1.09 + £0.54 per disc ) and £5.44 for the International Priority Airmail option ( i.e. £2.74 + £0.54 per disc.)

I sit corrected then.

But DVD Pacific are more customs friendly. I just received 16 disc Avengers box set and 13 disc Danger Man box set shipped seperatly and didn`t get hit by customs for either.

futureent.com have it for £28.99 with no customs charges - might end up cheaper than the other options if you did get hit by customs charges while using them - still at least its another option.

I ordered all four series of the Sopranos R1 boxsets from DVD Pacific.I deliberately made four separate orders so I wouldn`t get hit by customs charges and they sent them all at once! I got hit by an £18 import duties tax so just watch out.They claim they sent them all at once so I would save on shipping costs but I looked at the order details and they charged the same anyway.I never had any problems like this with DVDSoon when I ordered the 24 boxsets so I`ll use them in future.
