Page 1 of How do I get my name as an URL???

Go gently - I am new to this. I have just created a web site with front page, and have 50 MB of webspace with Pipex that I can upload it to. The address that I have is some crazy one, and I would like to change it to my name.

How do I do this?

when you`ve registered ,set it up in the "maintenance" section so your new "name" url directs you automatically to your pipex site. You`ll get some email addresses with it too (10, I think), so you can be 1eman[at]ku.oc.2eman, or whatever. You then just set it up to forward any mail to your normal email address.

http://www.123reg.co.uk looks as if it`s a lot cheaper, though.

Go into their control panel and then modify domain then web forwarding I think

a much cheaper solution is to go with someone like shorturl.com - you`d end up with www.YOURNAME.shorturl.com
