SmellySox (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Friday, 24th November 2000, 23:53

I bought a Daewoo (Argos) player.. enough said! Do I upgrade to a Pioneer DV-535 Region/Macro Free for 199.95 inc vat or keep on looking?? The thing is me head hurts from all the late night reading old reviews that contradict themselves.. Off to Argos tomorrow with DVD in hand!

Cheers,
The Stilton.

We`ve just bought one and it`s great!

Got ours fron Home Cinema Heaven - £249.99.

The 530 is a slightly lower spec, but still essentially the same machine.

The 530 is identical to the 535 except that the 535 has an optical out.

I got mine chipped and delivered from techtronics for £198 inc vat.

This was after returning an evil Alba 103.

Shout if you want any more info

I`ve got me credit card in me hand to purchase said machine. The only thing I`m worried about is the picture quality (don`t want z80 graphics like the Daewoo). They`re selling at £199.95 inc vat chipped at http://www.avland.co.uk/ which is an Eeprom upgrade only as not to void the warranty.

`The player has it`s eeprom re-flashed so it does not void the warranty.
We don`t chip the players like other people do.` from avlan

thanx for the replies
