Trying to decide what DVD to buy.
I liked the budget idea and considered the Wharfedale 750s (if you can find one). But this model only has 1 scart socket.

So, thought about the Scan 2000 but I was a little concerned about dealing with Bolton if I had any problems.

Also considered the Lecson. Never heard of it but it was recommended by a couple of friends - they`d both just bought model from Debenhams for 179 - including cables and 2 years warranty.

So I read through the reviews and forums on this site and made my decison. Looked up Lecson on Debenhams web site - could not find it.
E-Mailed Debenhams and phone the local shop.

Shop told me the price was back to £199....but the E-mail confiremd the price was still £179 until the end of Feb.

So I bought one, took it home, plugged it in and watched movies all night.

DVDs play great, Video CDs are fine with good sound through external speakers connected to my TV.

So far so good.

welcome to the club !!
glad you are enjoying the lecson i have one too and find the picture quality and sound to be excellent. i had the fabled aiwa 370 but returned it because the picture quality was`nt very good. the lecson is much better and with 2 scart sockets built in dd decoder ,region hacking and 2 years guarantee - what a bargain-

enjoy:)

Two extra details :

1/ they now say it`s 199 again but the price advertised on the streets is still 179. I bought 1 last saturday and I had to argue with them on Oxford street to have it for 179

2/ if you take the Debenhams cars you have an extra 5% off.

Total cost £170! I was really amazed by the quality for that price. + it did play my MP3 CDs straight away even though the files are not on the root of the CDs.

Cool player all together! C Ya

Looking for a cheaper player but want to play through a projector therefore need to know, can you turn the macrovision off?

TIA
