dax00 (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Tuesday, 4th February 2003, 00:44

Hi

Could anyone point me in the right direction, I need a budget DVD player such as the Nakio one from Safeway or the Dansai 1010 from Tescos. Can`t locate either. Can anyone let me know where I can obtain such a machine??!!

Thanks in Advance

Dax

I`ll 2nd that !

Flawless Multi Region DVD, VCD, SVCD, CDR, CDRW, & MP3 Playback ! Supports output of digital audio signals DTS/5.1 to a decoder (Coaxal and Optical) And its not to big to boot... For £70 you cannot go wrong.

Yeah - it`s a decent enough player - got someone one for a pressie.

The only thing I noticed was that the buttons on the machine no longer work after applying the region hack.

That didn`t effect me... All my front buttons still work perfectly ! There is a key on the remote that locks the keys ! This hasn`t been pressed by accident has it ?

Oh yeah forgot to say it also outputs NTSC in PAL-60 so if your TV doesn`t support NTSC you can still watch Region 1 discs :o) Although I must admit that this isn`t as good as unconverted signal.

I have an old TV. When I connected it to aToshiba SD220E (multi-region), R1 dvd comes out as B&W. I was told to look for a DVD player that has an internal converter to convert from NTSC-PAL.

Does your answer imply the Pacific 1002 has such a converter?

I agree with all the positive comments about the Mico Diamante 3000. It really is a versatile machine. If you want one you had better hurry though. I had to try three Sainsbury`s superstores before I found any in stock and even then there were only two left!

No! If your getting a black & white picture with your DVD player output set to PAL then you need a DVD player that outputs PAL 50!!

Most like your Toshiba output as Pal 60 with only a few like my Kiiro 838d with Pal 50.

Not sure which DVD players do now??
