The problem is (in detail)...

1) I put the DVD into my Alba player
2) The Columbia Tristar logos thingy comes on
3) The DVD lauches straight into the `Extras` menu
4) From here I can not do anything without being THROWN back into this menu.

Anybody.... PLEASE!!!!!

listen mate. your player is crap. i used to have one bought sold it within two months of purchase. along with average picture and audio quality it also has problems playing many discs. firstly Go doesnt work full stop! then also other R2 discs like Matrix and x-files season 1 theyre are problems with.then some R1 discs dont work either. T2: ultimate edit wont play the special versions of the film half way in. finally if any dics are slighlty scratched or dirty it goes haywire..... basically the more technically advanced the discs are the more unlikely the alba 103 can handle it!

i can confirm that the alba 103 is a very poor player. yes i know it is cheap and has a lot of features and is getting great reviews in magazines but it does not do its basic function very well i.e. play a dvd. picture quality is poor compared to other players and audio is light. after 5 days of ownership mine was showing pixelation on final destination ( first play ) and was not allowing me to ff fast back or pause a picture from either the remote or the unit itself. i took mine back to asda and got a full efund, went of to debenhams and got a lecson900 fantastic quality of picture and brilliant sound ( can also be made multi region ) do yourself a favour mate and get a refund, it`ll all end in tears ye know.
