Hi Smellysox phewww !
I to was interested in the Scan and heard both good and bad reports , I was hoping someone from Scan would convince they were good with no probs, but no one has ! I think the biggest prob is the returns + refund part unless of course you live in Bolton. I`m going for either the LG 3350E if i can get hold of one cheap enough or the Aiwa 370 from Comet. Best of luck ! Pedro.
PS have you tried Odour Eaters!!!!!

I`ve reported previously that I`m very pleased with my (`Mark 2`) Scan which I`ve had for about a month. Following my purchase, two other people I know have bought Scan`s and a third person has just ordered one. None of us has had any problems so far and we are thoroughly delighted with the performance - we find the audio performance particularly good. We have verfied that it out-performs the Wharfedale 750S by doing a `back-to-back` test using the same TV and DVD discs (the Wharfey went back to Tesco`s!!).
Scan seem to be supporting the player by issuing firmware upgrades which enable certain additional facilities within the player.......
They are also talking about a firmware version which will allow the display of full MP3 filenames - a desirable feature on any DVD player. Hopefully this will be available in January.

I can`t comment on Scan customer services - haven`t needed to use them. Most mail-order customer service (especially computer resellers) is lousy though.... My suggestion is to order on Credit Card and then complain to the card company if you have any problems with returns etc. (this goes for any mail order - not just Scan). Most companies act quickly once the CC company is on the case.

Thanx for the replies, I`ll look into the LG and pop down to my local comet who have loads of the Aiwa.... I was hoping for a player with macro disabled like the Pioneer 535.
