Page 1 of What the hell is going on with who hits first in fights?

I have just had fights against the same person, one with me challenged, the other as challenger, and in both my opponent hit first.

I was under the impression that the challenged Grem always got 1st hit.

No wonder new grems can`t improve, they get beat 1st hit by almost anyone they challenge so only get 3 points each fight.

This is ridiculous.

And now I`ve had a set of fights where I hit first both times.

Has who hits first been set to random?

If so can it please be changed back, at least with the way it was, or seemed to be to me anyway, the challenged Gremlin at least got a shot in before being smeared over the ring.

It`s all conkers if you`ve got no string.

Absolutely nothing has changed with the fight code, since v6. Absolutely nothing, so there is nothing to change back.

The ONLY thing that has changed is the way XP is awarded.

The gremlin with the highest dexterity always gets to hit first, if I recall correctly, although as I say its been a while since that code was fiddled with.

That can`t be right as I have hit first when my DEX is lower.

Can you please confirm what the rules are supposed to be.

Well, despite the various "off"ings, the original point raised is actually true; I just had a few fights and despite having a lower Dex on more than one occasion, i actually hit first (and vice versa)...

Is it partly a random thing like the "lucky" punches?
