My hairdresser got her son`s PS2 chipped, think it cost her £40 or thereabouts. No probs reported and this was about a year ago now since they had it done. I`ll ask her next time I see her for more info.

I`ve had mine chipped for nearly a year now and Had no problems whatsoever, although didn`t Sony take the chip makers to court and make the chips illegal?

Had mine chipped with a Messiah chip back in 2002 and havent had a single problem with it but I dont expect it to last much longer, I got my PS2 from France a few weeks after it was released so it is getting on now.

Hello there,Just get it done by someone who knows what they are doing and you should be fine. It`s worth paying a bit extra rather than getting someone you know down the pub to do it for £20.
The guy over at whitedog.co.uk for example has a degree in electronics and really knows his stuff. If they still do the chipping this is a good place.

Pool is the game of the Gods.

i could be wrong, but i think "chip" modifications are now actually illegal in this country (i could very well be wrong, but i`m sure iread it somewhere) However, you`re local computer fair will have a stall especially for this kind of thing ;)

I got my PS2 done recently.
I got his details from another web site.
I had sent my PS2 last saturday via royalmail, which he received it on tuesday.
he chipped it & sent out to me on the same day & I received it back on wednesday.
I don`t think that I would have had a better service than that.
He charges either £55 or £65 depending on the chip & £10 carriage each way.
I opted for the Matrix Infinity chip.
It plays back my old ps1 copy games ok,
but when I tried to copy PS2 "Simpsons Hit & Run" using Nero disc to disc, the PS2 comes with"insert ps1 or PS2 disc".
Now I need to find out how to make copies. And I am not Computer literate.
I can do it if I had a step by step guide for idiots !!!!.
If you need his details, then let me know & I can then supply u his email address forr you to ask him any questions that u may have.

I have now sorted the problem.
I was using DVD-RW.
But it works with DVD-R without any problems.
I was using -RW just for trials not realsing that -RW are not compatible with PS2.
