Which is the best Laurel and Hardy short to start with?

MrTombs (Competent) posted this on Wednesday, 8th November 2006, 09:28

Title says it all really. I have a young son (age 6) and the L&H boxset. I am wondering which short would be the best to get him started? Any ideas?

The Music Box and Duck Soup spring to mind if they are included. Have fun! :D 8) ;)

Some say I`m from Biddenden. Some say my name`s Sue. Some say I`m really Marge on a mission.

Personally, i`d go for towed in the hole. You can`t go wrong with L & H.

Enjoy :D

I thought Duck Soup was a Marx Bros film.

Music Box is the best sound short. Best silent short is Big Business. Try to get him hooked on the silents because they`re wilder and loonier than the sound shorts.

My suspicions were aroused when I saw he was wearing Battle of the Bulge ribbons.
There are no ribbons for the Battle of the Bulge!
Precisely.

Please let us know what you`ve watched with him so far and what his reaction has been. I was unable to get my boys hooked on L&H despite trying. They just won`t watch black and white stuff! :(

That`s depressing to hear. They`ll miss out on so much.
