Any thoughts about the FD Trinitron KVES34M31 ???

Does anyone out there have any thoughts about this specific television? Past Sony experiences aside, ie difficulties with other Sony equipment.

The model number is KVES34M31.

Does DRC work?, NICAM stereo?

Thanks, in advance

More TV & DVD Dilemma... Please HELP!!!!

As I have stated previously I am in the market for an 80cm Television and a DVD Player.

The Panasonic TAU retails here for $4500 Australian dollars, likewise the Pioneer DV-636S (Multi Region :) ) retails for $1179. My brother has a friend at an electronics store who can get me the Pioneer DV-636S for around $800 or less, not bad eh?
But the Panasonic TAU 100Hz is breaking the budget set by my father. Even with our "supplier :)" it will cost a minimum of $3200.

My fathers limit was initially $2000 for both, we have stretched it to $3500, and he will not budge any further, period.

I am determined to get 80cm and the Pioneer DV-636S. So with the Panasonic TAU definitely out of the question, wasn`t good for TV here anyway, I am looking for the next best thing or thereabouts.

I know we will get great after sales service so that is not a problem.

I was impressed by Sony`s, yes I don`t very much care for them either, latest (Australian anyway) offering in the KVES34M31. It has all the inputs I need;

CableTV
Playstation
DVD Component
S-Video (Computer)
Video Player, yes the dusty one

I was impressed with the S-Video feature where it automatically goes to 100Hz when in use, perfect for the computer as I tested. The sound, for a television was impressive also, but not too much of a factor due to our amp and 5.1 setup. Currently with a 34cm screen :) hahaha.

The features look impressive, but do they work? as stated?
So please HELP, should i buy this television?
does DRC 1250 work?

We can get it for $2350 Australia, which allows us to grab some nice cables with the $350 left.

Or if possible can you point me to a website with reviews of this set, or if you own it tell me what it is like etc.

I really did like the look of the TAU with DVD, but Television was awful here, and I do love my Football AFL, and of course Football/Soccer etc.

So, thanks for reading this garbage and help out a desperate Aussie.

Thanks in advance,

RE: Which TV, Sony WEGA KVXA34M31 or Panasonic TAU TX-79P100Z

Thanks for the help guys!!!!!

I think I`ll go with the TAU, and the Pioneer DV-636D.
Can you tell me something about the TAU?

What type of inputs does it have?
S Video, Component, Composite, AV (stereo)?

And where can I find out what these different connection types are and what makes them different from each other?

Thanks a billion

Which TV, Sony WEGA KVXA34M31 or Panasonic TAU TX-79P100Z

I need a reliable TV with;

Excellent Picture Quality
DVD Component Inputs (RGB)
S-Video Inputs
2 AV Inputs, RCA Type, Stereo ie Red, White, Yellow
Reliability
Natural Picture Look
Total Picture Control
Picture in Picture would be nice

As stated in a previous post I am getting either a
Sony DVPS735D or Pioneer DV-636D DVD Player

Thanks, in advance

RE: WHICH PLAYER Sony DVPS735D or Pioneer DV-636D, Thanks

Thanks for the opinions. I am still undecided though :(

It looks as if I`m going to purchase the Sony 80cm XA WEGA FD Trinitron model number KVXA34M31.

I`m thinking that the Sony DVD player would be more suitable ie: Sony to Sony??? or doesn`t it matter too much.

Thanks,
