RE: help with Sony TVR-255E handycam

Yep, using USB for captuing hi res AVI footage isn`t the best idea LOL!

I have the same camera - You must use a firewire connection for it to work sir.

RE: SONY 5.1 DVD Player - Model DAV S800

Nope, don`t look at the bose.

As much as I like Bose, they cost way too much money when Sony DAV systems sound as good - or better in my opinion.

RE: Connecting PC and Amplifier question.....

Yep, get one of these buggers off eBay. If you want to plug an mp3 player into your amp, you will still need the same lead.

Jobs a goodun. :) Use 3 of these leads to go from my 5.1 soundcard to my Yamaha amplifier. Sounds absolutely amazing in dvds especially. :)

RE: can you recommend a RELIABLE dvd recorder

My uncle has a Panasonic DVD Recorder and although he loves gadgets, he usually struggles with them.

Has had no problems in the 2 or so years he has had it. :)

RE: Hard Drive Camcorders!!

Hmmm - I doubt it is anything to do with the make of tape, although I do use sony casettes with my video equipment.

Maybe i`m just lucky. :)

RE: Hard Drive Camcorders!!

Hmm...

If kept in bad conditions perhaps, but mine are still holding out even though they were used in a Video 8 handycam since 1994 before getting the digital 8 one last christmas

RE: Hard Drive Camcorders!!

Nice idea, but I prefer knowing I have a hard copy on tape should the stuff on my computer hard drive become corrupt or something.

Shall stick with my Digital 8 for now. :D
