RE: Toshiba SD100E Region Hack, PLEASE...

Hello guys,
Well I HAVE EVENTUALLY GAVE UP in trying to find a hack for my toshiba 2109b DVD player. I WENT TO switch-it-on workshop personally which is in Norbury (London) and now have a multiregion player. Well I was supposed to pay £x for the chipping however this failed. In a couple of days Micheal sorted it out however at a higher price since he had to install a new blanc chip and had to reprogram it. Well now it is working however at an extra cot of £x+ in total.

Well this price is even cheaper than what the online companies like technotronics etc charge so I will not complain.

My bottom line is if you live in LONDON go to switch it on and you will not regreat it. Usually the hacks are made at the same day.

Regards

RE: INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE - SH**TY ENCODING ??!

On my Toshiba 2109B I have not observed any background effects such as bnding/pulsing while watching the interview with the Vampire DVD. The encoding quality is excellent.

RE: Tosh SD-2109

Well, I am a computer frick, and I have also built my own computer from parts. In addition the warranty by chipping becomes void and if you make a mess then you the only option you face is to buy a new DVD player which is good business for you as you are going to sell more multiregion DVD players. Well as I see it, I will never chip my DVD player again. The only option I have now is to install a downloadable hack for my TOSHIBA 2109B (I managed to fix my MPEG card for £100 plus postage not to mension the hack chip for £30) however the cost prohibits me of doing so. Not to mension that the downloadable multiregion firmware hack which I have installed in my creative dxr2 dvd player only took 10 seconds.

If you can manage the risk then the risk is yours. Face the consequences of your actions.

Total cost: Toshiba 2109B DVD player: £150
Chip: £30
Delivery charges: £10
Cost of repairing Mpeg card: £100

Total: £290

RE: Tosh SD-2109

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CHIP TOUR MOTHERBOARD YOUR SELF. I had tried that and failed and the result was: the mpeg board became useless as the solder whent all over the place which conncted other microwires which were making contact with their adjucent ones. In addition I destroyed other parts of the dvd with th hot solder.

FOR A REPLACEMENT of the motherboard WE ARE TALKING FOR £200 and as a comparison I BOUGHT MY Toshiba 2109B DVD player for only £150 from DABS (special propmotion that lasted one day).

On the other hand the cost of sending it to the place and chipping it is excesively high.

The decison is yours but if i costs you £60 to £80 to chip it or dowanload a multiregion software on it and compare it with the cheapest DVD player which is multiregion at only £120 then the price for chipping is rediculous.

This is anyway my oppinion but definetely do not try to chip it your self as the probabilities of destroying your DVD player and chucking it away are higher.

I will say no more. The choice is yours.

RE: Toshiba 2109B hack available by remote control

I have just fixed my TOSHIBA 2109 DVD player and I have tried the hack my self but does not work. As I WAS TOLD PRVIOUSLY IT WORKS for the RCE hack whcih allows dvd movies like patriot to be played.

Do you know were I can download a software on this cheaply and make it multiregon.

Thanks

RE: PLEASE is there any HACKS for The TOSHIBA SD2109 B or E

Sorry Mate. I have just fixed my Toshiba 2109 player DVD player and it did not work on mine either. It seems we have the same problem. On the other hand am not prepared to pay £60 to £80 to chip it or fit a download software and especilly to sent it away from my house. Unless the mod people are prepared to come to my house for a reasonable price and download a software in it otherwise forget it.

It is your choice.

I really now do not think there is a hack although I found a threat that there migt be a hack for the Toshiba SD100 so there might be one for this one but not yet discovered. TRY THIS FUNCTION AND TELL me WHAT ROM VERSION YOU HAVE ON YOUR DVD PLAYER.

WHEN YOU OPEN YOUR DVD PLAYER WITH NO DVD disks try:
Zoom
6
0
6
Zoom

MINE displys
Rom1 version 2.100 - R2
Rom2 version 2.1
OSD ....
VCD on
etc

It is my tought that rom2 is for R1.

AIWA XD-DV 170 rocks better looking than its brother model for only £180 incl delivery

Aiwa has announced an upgraded DVD-player line that includes a unit capable of MP3-encoded CD playback and a compact transportable model.

The new AIWA XD-DV370 (shown right) is a full-featured DVD player with built-in MP3 decoding, allowing it to play MP-3-encoded CDs. As a result, MP3 music files can be dubbed undecoded onto a CD-R or CD-RW disc for playback on the XD-DV370. Other XD-DV370 features include a 96kHz/24-bit audio D/A converter; a 10-bit video D/A converter; a Dolby Digital/DTS digital output (offering both optical and coaxial connectors); dual stereo RCA outputs; and component, S-Video and composite video outputs. The XD-DV370 carries a suggested retail price of $300 USD.

The new AIWA XD-DV170 is a small, lightweight player that offers AC/DC operation and is compatible with DVDs, CDs, CD-R/RWs and VCDs. It includes a 96kHz/24-bit audio D/A converter and a 10-bit video D/A converter as well as Q Surround, to create surround-sound effects from two audio channels. The XD-DV 170 carries a suggested retail price of $350.

Aiwa XD-DV 170 looks terrific is it any good?

This player is very compct and looks nice.

It has all the specifications of the AIWA 370. Does anybody know if it uses the same chip as the other aiwa (i.e. from LG 3350). And the price guess £180 includng delivery. This is even a better bargain than the other aiwa 370 and in addition is in stock. Please let me know so I can buy it tomorrow. Thanks. If anybody is interested please leave your threat here.
