RE: Found NEW code for AIWA DV 370!

This code seemed to do a pretty good job of resetting my player! Went back to being region 2, and lost my current position in Green Mile...

Not a code I`ll be using again! :-)

RE: LG DVD-3350E Uncovered

I`m having some problems with my scanner - everything`s coming out yellow!

There`s a number to call on the form - 01480 210011 (9-5 weekdays). If you ring them and get some joy out of that, I won`t bother with the scan. Otherwise, I`ll try to get something sorted for you.

RE: LG DVD-3350E Uncovered

OK, the box should have a sticker on it and, if so, there should be an application form inside. It applies to 3350Es bought between 1/8/00 and 31/12/00, so your receipt should be between these dates. There`s nothing on the form to say that photocopies of the application form wouldn`t be accepted, so I could scan it for you ;-)

The other annoying thing is, you get home and look at the application form, then find out that you have to get the store to stamp the application form. So you have to go all the way back to Currys before you can send the form off! 28 days for delivery, so hopefully I`ll have mine before Christmas...

RE: LG 3350E Funks! Why rock with the Aiwa 270

Jimbo,

Where`s this pin? Please let me know, so that I can `snap` it in 354 days` time! :-)

RE: LG DVD-3350E Uncovered

Regarding the display of firmware version etc:
It works on my LG, but you need to press Select after entering the code.

I get:

MODEL : LG WEST EUROPE
REGION : NO.02
NATION : GB 00
MICOM : VER1.2 20000712
SERVO : D003
MPEG : 0L40 20APR00
MISCEL : 11 A0
47 42 00 FD 10 00 00 00

I`ve no idea what half of this means, but at least there`s a couple of dates in there to compare with! How does this info compare to other players?
According to http://www.lgelectronics.co.uk/ there`s a version 1.3 from October, but the download procedure (if it applies to this model) involves specialist hardware!

RE: Little Miss Information

A friend of mine has it, but I`m not sure which region. If it`s R1, I`ll let you know.

RE: Little Miss Information

Just for confirmation:

I`ve borrowed some disks from a friend, some of which happen to be R1. They play perfectly, which is great! Then I put Toy Story 2 (R2) in, that played OK. Put Taxi (R2) in, and it complained about the region! Went through the procedure again, making sure it`s Region 0, and everything`s working now :)

All we need now is macrovision removal... :)

RE: LG 3350E - Loading Times

(Now posting from home)

I have to admit that the times are better now. Don`t know what`s changed, apart from it`s now under the TV instead of its temporary position on top of the hifi... Resuming position now takes a couple of seconds after reading the disk, which takes about 20 seconds as Troll found. I can cope with that! Especially as it`s now (hopefully) multi-region!

The disks aren`t in any way grubby - they`re brand new! Ones that took ages before aren`t taking so long now.

(As for VHS tapes, do you rewind the tape when you`re half-way through watching a film? ;-) )

RE: Little Miss Information

OK. It seems to be working. When entering pause, code, region, pause, it appears OK. But when set to Region 1, it still plays Region 2 disks. I`ve not got an R1 disk at the moment, but will have on Monday. Until then, I can`t be sure.

When it comes up with COdE--, do you enter 1PAUSE, or 01PAUSE ? I`ve tried both, and it still plays R2 disks. Which I`d not expect it to do if it`s an R1 player! And power off, I assume you just mean standby - or at the mains?

Thanks again for the help Jimbo.
