    Synopsis:
From acclaimed director Danny Boyle in a refreshingly feel-good change of direction for the film-maker, Millions follows the story of eight-year-old Damian and his older brother Anthony (newcomers Alex Etel and Lewis McGibbon). Faced with many changes in their lives following the death of their mother, their father Ronnie (James Nesbitt) has moved them to a new housing estate, in a new town in an attempt to move the family on with their lives. Christmas is drawing near and, whilst Anthony settles into his new school with no problems, the change for young Damian is not easy and his fixation with holy saints only seems to isolate him from his classmates. Missing his old life, Damian builds a cardboard fort between his new house and the nearby railway track. The hideout provides comfort and peace, not to mention a place where his imaginary holy visitors can regularly pop by for a chat.
Damian is a strong believer in miracles, so when a bag filled with stolen UK sterling - £229,320 to be exact - comes crashing through his den roof, he thinks it must be a gift from God himself. Damian confides in his older brother who decides they should keep their lucky find a secret from everyone, including their dad. As the brothers are deciding what to do with the money, it becomes clear that their spending plans couldn`t be more different... whilst Damian hopes to follow the examples set by the saints and give the money to the "poor" and grant someone a Christmas miracle; his brother Anthony has other ideas! A capitalist in the making, Anthony is already thinking of exchange rates, inflation, and the cost of property. But with only one week to spend the money before England converts to the Euro, the brothers soon realise that they are dealing with a race against time.
