Oh, gosh... . What the h[at]ll happened to the original story we all grew up with? What have they done with poor ol` Arthur? PLEASE - bring him back!!!
The movie tells the alternate story about who Arthur was and what he fought for.
The movie fails on several aspects:
First of all - it`s boring! As simple as that. Despite the action scenes, it feels as if nothing is ever happening on the screen.
Secondly - the acting is average (at most). The cast is mostly made of un-familiar actors. And well...it shows... .
Last but not least - the characters are a lot of things, but are so difficult to empathize with.
The video transfer is very good. The visuals are quite impressive at times (although there are no overwhelming scenes) and the transfer show no compression signs at all.
The DD 5.1 soundtrack is good. The surrounds are used throughout the movie and give the action scenes a lot of depth.
The menus are animated with sound.
The extras include a behind the scenes featurette, an alternate ending (much darker than the original one) and a picture gallery.
Bottom line - forget it, bring good ol` Arthur back. Disappointing.
