Review of Barbara Currie Power Packed Yoga

    6 / 10

    Introduction

This complete yoga DVD covers four areas of stretching positions for yoga students. It is not necessary to be knowledgeable about yoga before purchasing this guide as it is suitable from any level of expertise.

The 28 days of the title are to get the mind to adapt to a habit of exercise by doing a little everyday.

There are four sections and each one can be accessed separately from the comprehensive menu.

    Video

There is no problem with the picture-not much else to say. Its of a lot of ladies doing yoga-very gracefully, potentially we could all do it(not sure about the grace though).

    Audio

There is unobtrusive background music to the exercises and it whilst it is not going to set the world on fire it does its job without distracting.

    Features

Although this type of DVD doesn`t lend itself to obvious bonus features- there are some additional items.

Per the packaging which I spotted whilst shopping as there was none supplied with mine there is a 28 day diet guide included separately.
On the DVD there is the following:

A Masterclass -this is an additional stretch class aimed at the more advanced user.
Guide to a Spa which you can aspire to belong to.

This is just a basic slide show with scrolling words to give you an idea about the spa- and the general idea is that you can`t afford it!

    A definition of Yoga.

A screen with a written definition of what yoga is.

    Conclusion

This is a good all-round yoga course that would benefit any user from the novice to the more advanced. There are no bells and whistles but it is a workmanlike approach which explains everything clearly with demonstrations of each level of achievement. The menu makes it easy to access each separate workout. The extras are pointless but as they don`t appear to bump the price up it does not really matter.

A good guide to taking up or continuing yoga stretch classes.
