Synopsis:
Thiruchelvan (Madhavan), an engineer and writer, and Indra (Simran), a TV newsreader, has an eldest daughter named Amudha (Keerthana). Surrounded by a loving environment and school friends, her young life is complete. However on her ninth birthday, Amudha learns that she was adopted. She also learns about her real mother Shyama (Nandita Das), and father Dileepan (Chakravarthy) who were caught up in the Sri Lankan war. Shyama had escaped to India to give birth to Amudha only to return back to Sri Lanka to find her lost husband. Now no one knows of his or her whereabouts. Amudha pusasudes her adopted parents to take her to war torn Sri Lanka in order to find her real parents.
