    Review for Chucklevision Series 2

    8 / 10

When I finished watching the First series of Chucklevision I definitely did not say 'Oh dear oh dear'. Instead I said 'To Me To Me'.

This second series of the show is almost as good as the first one. I was surprised by how in these thirteen episodes it all just kept getting better. By this point, most series have already become complacent and just rested on the typical comedy that works. Instead this one felt like it was still trying to establish itself and it really succeeds.

This time Chuckle Brothers Paul and Barry have to contend with the problems of Nature Watching, Faming, Music and an amazing Christmas Special. I am so glad that I now have this to add to my collection of things I watch at Christmas along with the Specials to the likes of Father Ted and Bottom. This will definitely be one that I will be watching with the family while waiting for the dinner to cook.

Each episode is around twenty minutes and this is just the right length for this kind of show. Much like something like Mr Bean, it doesn't outstay its welcome or labour the joke until it is not funny. Instead it is very clever in how it presents its moments and the timing between the Brothers is simply impeccable. I was not surprised to learn that the Head Writer on the show was John Sayle who's other main credit is writing for The Two Ronnies.

I found the second series of Chucklevision to be just as entertaining as the first and there is something about the show that feels old, but new at the same time. I had no memory of any of the episodes and so watching them was like the first time for me as it was for my younger family who the show is now aimed it. I am glad to know that the show did go on for over twenty years and so hopefully that means there's more and more Chucklevision to come.
