US remake of the Danish/Swedish co-production Broen/Bron. It stars Demián Bachir and Diane Kruger and starts in July on FX. About a series of murders on the border of two countries (Denmark and Sweden in the original, the US and Mexico in this remake).
Sky Atlantic are also making a British version called `The Tunnel` with Stephen Dillane and Keeley Hawes.
A few short teasers...
I hope it`s as good as the US remake of The Killing.

The first episode was excellent and it seems like they`ve done a marvellous job of transferring the concept over to the states/Mexico. I`m particularly liking the chemistry between the leads and also between Ted Levine and Diane Kruger.
Did anyone give this a try? It's very good. It was quite clever how they expanded the subplots to form the basis for future seasons.
The UK/French remake (The Tunnel) also started airing last night on Sky Atlantic and also features a great cast, though I'm not sure if I can stomach another re-telling of the same story.

Annoyed, as per usual, that Sky won't let Virginmedia have access to Sky Atlantic so another one I'll miss...

Season 2 is great so far. Franka Potente is owning every scene she's in, somehow managing to be both captivating and terrifying at the same time.
So, three different versions, which should I watch? The original Danish, the US or the UK one? :o

The US version shares a lot of similarities with the Danish/Swedish production in the first season, but the second is veering off on its own tangent. The plot is becoming much more about the Mexican cartels, corruption and human trafficking, as opposed to the murder mystery of the first season.
I would highly recommend the US one, though I haven't seen the Scandinavian original. I didn't see The Tunnel either, but there was a thread about it and it sounded pants.
