Ha, exactly what we said when we watched the episode last night when he turned up :D

Haven`t watched last weeks episode yet, but have watched the first 5 this week, so unfortunately by Monday we`re going to be watching week to week, rather than mass sittings

Is anyone watching this who actually saw the original on BBC4?  I`m curious as to how close it is in plot and style...

I hear it is very similar, in fact some scenes almost shot for shot.

OMG at the last episode!

Liked the finale...

SPOILER:
though slightly miffed at not finding out who the killer was.

Apparently it starts on Channel 4 in July.

Here`s my take on the last episode:

SPOILER:
Unless there is an innocent explanation for politician guy leaving his lover`s bed in the middle of the night for a few hours, and then coming home soaking wet, it was probably him.

Either that or whoever gave that detective the fake shot from the toll booth, is framing him and put the prostitute up to lying about him scaring her with talk of drowning. Which means it could I guess be that incredibly rich curly haired guy who we know seems to already like water and beats on women.

I`d be pretty sure of the first one, if it wasn`t for the whole Ahmed thing!

I thought the season finale was a big letdown. They should have revealed the killer in my opinion, allowing a new case to be setup for Season 2. To drag the case on for even more episodes is really pushing viewers patience. Plus I thought the twist with Holder was completely unnecessary, and I really hope they don`t break up the working relationship with him and Linden as a result.

In actual fact, I think the last 5 or so episodes have been quite poor, after a fantastic start. I think after the FBI stuff happened it started to get a little boring and too much time was spent without progressing the case.

So has at actually finished, or mid season break?

I haven`t watched US one, as I watched and really enjoyed the original, so if sticks closely seems little point, but am curious if they condensed 20 episodes for US, or just did the usual US split the season in 2.

I`m looking forward to the Danish season 2 showing soon, which is a new case.

That was the season finale. It ended thus:

SPOILER:
The detective is on the plane with her son, when she gets a call on her mobile saying none of the footage for the toll booth is available, because the cameras were all broken that night. At which point she realises the photograph of the senator crossing the toll bridge was a fake. Then it cuts to her partner getting into a car with an unknown individual, saying the photograph worked.

sounds quite different to the "proper" one, now I`ve read the spoilers don`t need to watch it. maybe there was something about the Danish one they thought US audiences wouldn`t like, actually I can think of a few things.
