Good business in the transfer market so far with the signings of Milner & Ings now we need to just sign Benteke to complete the frontline.

We need to sign a decent RB,CB & possibly a keeper

Sadly your lack of any real ambition seems to be being matched by Liverpool's.
You seriously thing that signing two strikers, one of which was relegated and the other survived by a game would 'complete the frontline'?
Ings is a decent signing as a 3rd or 4th choice striker.  Benteke is a decent player at a certain club where they play a certain way.  We would need to slow right down from the way we want to play and totally change the philosophy.  And at £30m??  Seriously?  Would any other top 4 club want him?  When you replace players with players from mid table (or way lower in these cases), that's what you can become.  Not forgetting Origi joining us.  Who was named in the 'Worst side in Ligue 1' last season....

Saw more than enough of Manquillo to think he could become really good.  Rodgers appeared to think differently from the beginning of the year and played anyone but him there no matter where their preferred position or what anyone else said.
At CB it's a big year for Lovren.  Sakho and Skrtel both superb though - but Sakho need to improve his injury record.  Ilori probably returning after impressive loan spell.
After a dodgy spell Mignolet had an unbelievable turnaround and was easily one of our best players.  Saved many points over the last 4 or 5 months.  Brad Jones is the worst keeper I've ever seen so will be replaced - especially after us retracting the contract offer.

Saw Markovic score a great goal a couple of days ago.  Funny what can happen when you play a player in position instead of right wing back and then hauling him off when he's not 'doing it'.
It was so sad towards the end of the season seeing Can repeatedly played as RB when every person watching, bar the person that mattered, knew it was wrong.
It will be interesting to see if Rene Meulensteen or Pako Ayestaran join after getting rid of Marsh and Pascoe.

If we want to really compete and get in the top 4 we need to try to compete.  There's not many secrets in football now - it overwhelmingly comes down to what you pay for your players and your squad/first eleven's value.  It's proven year after year (2013/14 being a huge exception).
Going cheap and buying potential will only get you so far.  In our case, we keep it up and get 5th.  Unless we wake up and act like the club we are and pay the sort of money the clubs above us do, we have no chance.  And with the money available to clubs from TV money etc., that FSG still refuse to spend it on top, top players and pay top, top money we'll finish outside the top 4 again.
It's getting depressing reading the stories every day with all the clubs above us linked to top £30m+ players and we're looking at a completely different class of player.
The stupidly unambitious stadium expansion won't do anything like a proper job could have done for finances either.

So many times over the last 2 years we've declared an interest in quality players and done the usual and dilly dallied trying to squeeze a better deal and another club has come in and we've lost them.  Hopefully that's changed and we are still going for them but less publicly and we'll pay the money needed to secure the signing.  I'm not holding my breath though.....

The BBC are reporting that Man City have made an offer of £35.5m for Sterling this morning.

Plus 5 million add ons (?)
Which proves they have more money than sense.
I don't think most sane minded supporters would say he's worth more than Sanchez.

We appear to still be trying to buy either Southampton players or other 'young potential' while not giving any current young potential in the same positions any chances and just loaning them out.
It can only be a matter of time for Rodgers as he's lost pretty much the fan base and as soon as a poor run comes (which it has to), the pressure will mount and mount.  Klopp couldn't have made his intentions any clearer.
The owners aren't remotely interested in the club, never go to the games and couldn't be arsed going to Wembley or Steven Gerrard's - a club legend - last game.

Your bang on sj, All I keep reading about is LFC interested in signing 19 to 21 year olds.
I was hoping for 2nd season syndrome for some of last years signings.

I believe we've pretty much done a deal for Gomez.
Can't say I know anything about him really (supposedly Arsenal and Utd interested too) but it still leaves you wondering where this leaves the likes of Wisdom and Ilori.
Still, after letting yet another player get close to the end of their contract, it looks like Skrtel has agreed a new deal.

Players 'worth' depends on so many things - and, ridiculously, nationality too.  Simply being British can make quite a difference.
It's also not quite the same to compare players bought a year or so apart - especially after the amount of money in the game with the new TV deal makes things just silly.
I'm pretty sure we'll see his 'worth' soon enough - and pretty sure it will be considerably more than Sanchez.
Ask me if I'd do a straight swap though and I'd snap your hand off.
Fine lines football and we can only wonder how different the table may have looked if said player had made a different decision a year ago..

Hearing we could sign Firmino very soon!.  A huge coup if we can do that - and was heavily tipped for a Utd move.
Linked to Patrick Roberts who looks like he's gonna be really special.  More 'potential' maybe but does look the part.  Heavily linked with City though.
