En-ger-lund

Due to unforseen circumstances (knackered car) I couldn't work last night so I made myself feel even worse by not only losing a nights money but watching England v Norway.
About the only positives I can gain from it was no Arsenal player got injured and one, the new one, came on for a few mins and ran about a bit so he obviously wasn't that injured.
I got that bored during the second half I just started browsing and left the audio on just in case something happened. It didn't. Unless you count the penalty.

Gawd elp us v Switzerland on Monday.
Powerhouse of international football that they are.

It's time we woke up and smelt the coffee... we are not even in the second tier or international football. The FA have to look hard at themselves, far to easy to employ overseas players, rather than developing quality British talent.  Bring back the 3 Foreign player rule...

Don't agree with that.
You don't improve English (British) players by removing better players from the league you do it by investing in a lot more coaches and facilities and bringing our players up to the same level as the foreign ones.
You maybe even need to remove the home grown players rule as it inflates the price and wage on average players and removes any encouragement to play, therefore learn, abroad.

I completely agree with bringing back the 3 foreigner rule...if english and scottish clubs know that in 10 years time they will need to play 8 home grown players they would be putting the vast amounts (at least in england) they receive from sky into bringing thru home grown players instead of giving it to greedy players, greedier agents and obscene transfer and loan amounts....instead of Man U paying a player who is not theirs £6 million and £343,000 per week and getting rid of 2 home grown lads they may be more inclined to concentrate on improving the english boys they have currently, average foreign players have hurt the game no end :(

Beckham says watching Eric Cantona inspired him as a player:

I doubt he's alone in that. If people can't even be bothered to watch our national squad play, which has our best English players in it, aren't even less kids going to want to play if this is the diet they grow up on?

This ^^^^^

Personally, I look back at the Premiership before Wenger and exciting attacking football was a rarity, you had to watch Brazil and Argentina to see that. Now you have teams newly promoted doing it, and this is what most fans want to see.

If you are a good English player, the big clubs want to buy you. No marketplace ever got better by restricting competition. :)

I like to look at that as them wanting to play for a Champions League club. ;)

Didnt cleverley an english international move to a bottom half team?? how does that help him improve as he was a regular starter last season so dont get that, unlike richards who moved to get 1st team football

He's still playing against Premiership opposition and alongside the likes of Given, Benteke, Agbonlahor, Vlarr. All internationals. Not to mention Roy Keanes little pearls of wisdom during training

Arsene looks to have found another bargain in Welé.
Two goals tonight (last night?)

If he'd have been able to cross a ball it would have been over long before.  Great ball in from Sterling for Welbeck to hit in with his shin.

We will pay the price but we will not count the cost..

Thankfully we have plenty of players who do that, it's getting someone on the end of it we struggle with. :/

Maybe not now though. It's funny seeing Man Utd fans whine about his sale on twitter, I'd still swap Welbeck for RVP or Rooney.
