Do DVD Box Office reply to emails?
Decided to try ordering a DVD from DVD Box Office.
After a week I checked the order status and it had not changed. I emailed them to see if it was out of stock. No reply
A couple of days later the status was set to Invoiced, but nothing about despatched. I emailed to ask what the situation was. No reply.
A few days later I emailed again to ask why they did not reply to my emails. No reply.
The disc arrived today - 19 days after order, which is 2 day under their 7 to 21 days for delivery. Unfortunately the inside of the box is broken, the disc is now scratched and the silver on one area is not stuck down properly so it won`t play.
I`ve sent another email off to report this, but I`m not going to hold my breath. Anyone know if this company will try to rectify the situation or shall I start to arrange the credit card charge back?
CD Wow these people are not!
RE: Do DVD Box Office reply to emails?
Yes - but they are usually very slow, as they seem to only seem to work a couple of days a week.
Also, if you do get a reply it seems to be taken from the same script - the last order I ever placed with this lot went missing in the post, and after two months it was only when I threatened to notify my card company that I got any action.
RE: Do DVD Box Office reply to emails?
this seems to be the case with quite a few companies of late. Threaten them and they respond. It`s sad (and stressfull!) when you have to do this just to get a response.
Haven`t ordered anything from DVDBO for ages, but I`ve not had a problem with them before. DVD Soon are cheaper, but then you pay for delivery unless you spend a minimum amount, $165CDN I think.
RE: Do DVD Box Office reply to emails?
I did a price search for the DVD and DVDBO came out as the cheapest, hence my ording from them.
Does not look like I will make that mistake again!
RE: Do DVD Box Office reply to emails?
Received a reply on Monday telling me to post the duff disc back. I replied asking why I had to fork out to return the disc.
They replied Tuesday saying that if I ask for a refund of return postage costs they will refund it.
Sent a reply asking if they play to ship the replacement ASAP, or will I have to wait for the returned disc to get to Canada and be processed then have another three week wait for the replacement to make it over.
No reply to that one. The duff disc is in the post, so I will wait and see.

Just to bring anyone interested (you never know) up to date.
The replacement disc arrived about a month after sending the duff one back.
DVD Box Office failed to credit me a refund of the return costs.
DVD Box Office have not replied to my emails asking about this.
I am now taking it up with my credit card company.
Shame all dealers can`t be Play or CD Wow.
Yeah I`m interested mate. Hope you get on OK. It`s pretty much what this forum is about so thanks for the update.

RE: Do DVD Box Office reply to emails?
I`ve sent several e-mails chasing up a disc (they claim they don`t have it in stock and are trying to get it in) and they`ve answered all of them...
RE: Do DVD Box Office reply to emails?
I`ve had a lot of problems recently with DVDBO, I`ve sent 6 or 7 emails asking the whereabouts of a DVD that they have invoiced me for, but I`ve never received it. I guess I`ll have to threaten them with the credit card company to get response. I`m sticking with Play and CDWow, much better.

You`ve got my full sympathy, Mr Barnum!
I`ll tell you a little something that happened to me when I ordered some 25 discs from dvdboxoffice last July. Three titles never turned up, so I started an email and phone marathon with these guys. As of January 8th the last disc popped into the mailbox (an incredibly cheap MGM double disc of Motel Hell and Deranged). Try to beat that. It took them a full SIX MONTHS to send all items. I`m now exhausted and totally p***ed off with that online retailer. They do have uncut horror films at good prices, but their customer service is not of this planet. Better stick with Play and Splash, and for the occasional (cheap) Region 1 title I`d recommend Playcentric or dvdsoon. At least they reply to emails and sort out problems swiftly, instead of losing customers.
