Only a matter of time before someone releases open source to do the same:

They do list ways of fighting it though, mainly making watermarks inconsistent across images by warping them.

That's exactly what Google said in their blog post for them to do. :(

I think this might be really liberal use (or more accurately complete ignorance) of the phrase reverse engineered.
