Same most likely applies to a lot of cheap third party alternatives, but not all alternatives.

Without even looking at the link I thought this was well known?  Wasn't there even a thing a while back where Apple were replacing dodgy, Chinese ones that had electrocuted someone (and fire risk?) free of charge?

Everything is copied in the Far East, and not always for the better.

I stopped off in Singapore for a day & night, on a home trip to Oz recently, and picked up some Colgate toothpaste, and after using it for a few days, I actually looked at it and although the colouring of the tube and cardboard packaging was identical, it said Colcat toothpaste.

I wonder what was in the contents

Hopefully, but there is always a bit in all of us that is tempted by cheap, so it's handy to know exactly what is in the cheaper one and why it's potentially dangerous.
