Anyone else getting excited about these??.

Personally, I can`t wait for the 9/9/09 when all their studio albums are re-released :D .

All the pre release reviews are giving them glowing reports.

Roll on........ :) :) :)

Cheers,
Mark. :)

I`d be tempted by a vinyl boxed set which will only appreciate in value :D

I`d really like the boxset, but can`t help feeling they are taking the p*** charging £170 for music that is older than me. >:(

I`ve been a Beatles fan since I was about 5 years old, I`ve bought the albums on tape, then cd (I skipped LP`s as I`ve never had a record player.)

Amazon had the pre order at £140 for a couple of days, but it`s now gone back up to £170. :(
Don`t know if I`ll just buy the albums one at a time, or bite the bullet & get the boxset

Matey, I wouldn`t DARE to bring anymore Beatles vinyl into this house :D .

I already have multiple copies of all their LPs (original mono/stereo/repressings/imports/pic discs, etc..etc..), so it`s either more Beatles vinyl or a divorce (tough choice lol :D ).

PS. pat-w, yes, I feel the boxset should represent better value for money (especially the mono version that omits Abbey Road & Let It Be - Thats retailing at £200! :o )

Cheers,
Mark.

I`ve learned over the years that remasters don`t often mean better sound. However, I`m reliably informed that the people remastering these sets are conscious of retaining the music`s dynamics etc, unlike many mastering engineers.

You have to pay a lot more for the boxset, I just added the titles at play to see how much it would come to, buying each title

£110 for the discs, or £170 for the boxset

Exactly my point over the pricing of the box set :(

Seems strange to be penalised for wanting them all together :/ ,

But some titles are missing from above (With The Beatles, Yellow Submarine, Revolver & Beatles For Sale)

Any of you guys interested in the mono set? I`m not a Beatles fan, but I know the hardcores are going crazy over it, rather than the stereo.

I would love to get it Brian, but at £200, & the fact that the Monos can`t be purchased individually, i`m going to concentrate on the stereo versions at present.

Yeah, I did notice that, but I added all the titles that were on Plays Beatles remastered page.
But even missing those 4 cd`s, if you say each would be about a tenner each, it`s still an extra £20 for a cardboard box, & that`s for 40 year old music, sung by 4 english guys, only 2 of which are still living, who really can`t need the money. :/

If they sold this at £100 if would still make millions, so why rip off their fans?

The worst of that is, I bet I still end up buying it...

Guess if I get it from HMV online, at least I`ll get 5% Quidco (£8.50) back
Wish I`d pre ordered it from Amazon now
