Just found out we have been given VIP tickets for before, during and after show party for the Foo Fighters concert on saturday night!!
The down side is it will be full of corporate idiots due to it being Radio One sponsered but what the hell its the Foos!!
(and Led Zeppelin were at the sound check today so fingers crossed!! :D )
Cant wait to see my sons face when I tell him tomorrow!

I`m so annoyed with Radio 1....

I listen to it all day in the van while i`m delivering and this Foo Fighters gig completely bypassed me. First i heard of it was on Monday i think.....had i realised i would have tried to get tickets.

So anyway- how did yo get those VIP tickets then?? :)

They`ve put extra tickets out that are on general sale you know?? For today and tomorrow.

I`m fuming because I`ve got exams today, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday so can`t justify going.

Bottled going on Monday to the Manchester one aswell (although it probably was for the best :( ).

Everyone who went on Monday said it was awesome aswell.

I`d been hoping that they`d play at Glastonbury as until the full line up came out last month, there seemed to be a lack of big names and there was a week long gap in the Foos tour that would have fit in nicely.

Juls- If you speak to Dave Grohl can you tell him I`m not impressed that he`s decided to have these gigs coincide with my exams and I`ll be having words next time I see him.

LOL of course I will and Im sure he will take it into consideration next time seen as he is `such a nice guy` :D
TBH if I speak to Mr G it will be total jibberish!!

Neiliboy cant believe you missed out but there are plenty of tickets still floating around and at face value or cheaper.

How did I get the tickets?......................... it was a thank you for my friend helping out a sick member of the family of someone in Radio One

Told my lad this morning - he went to school smiling which he hasnt done in years!!

So the Foo`s at Wembley.................

Journey up was a total nightmare - junction we needed of M4 was closed along with bit of A4 that we got diverted onto luckily the guy whose drive we were parking on (very handy for wembley parking - have his details of anyone wants them!) was fantastic at re-directing us.

So we arrived, took a wander to the stadium and realised, as far as Im concerned, wembley is a s*** place for concerts :( Its just waaaayyy too big, the sound bounced and the stewards were twats - long story involving our VIP passes which I wont bore you with.)

But anyway the music:

Futureheads - pretty good really. Only had quick listen to their cd on way up but the crowd seemed to respond and they didnt seem as if they were drowning in the fact they were playing to a half empty stadium.

Supergrass - okish. Never been a fan and the drummer was being a twat in the bar before the show so couldnt be arsed with them to be honest. `Pumping on my radio` got the crowd going and was, thankfully, their last song.

The Foo Fighters - TBH they seemed tired and knackered but a good show was put out never the less. Hawkins was very quiet throughout and his vocals werent as strong as usual. Grohl did do a great job but voice is definately showing cracks (which isnt surprising)

Set List:
`The Pretender`
`Times Like These`
`No Way Back`
`Cheer Up Boys, Your Make-Up Is Running`
`Learn To Fly`
`This Is A Call`
`Long Road To Ruin`
`Breakout`
`Let it Die`
`Stacked Actors`
`Skin And Bones`
`Big Me`
`Marigold`
`My Hero`
`Cold Day In The Sun`
`Everlong`
`Monkey Wrench`
`Rock`n`Roll`
`Ramble On`
`Best Of You`

Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones joined them on stage to play RocknRoll (Grohl on drums, Hawkins on vocals) and Ramble On (Grohl on vocals, Hawkins on drums)
That was pretty amazing to be honest even though Im not a Zeppelin fan!!

Grohl did the whole `this is the best day of my life` etc and there was his usual banter with the crowd and it was a great night but in my honest opinion Ive seen them play better - whether this was because of the sound or the lack of `intimacy` Im not sure but hey it was a fun night out and we are both hoarse this morning :D

That makes me less disappointed not to have been there.

Had a text off my mate who went saying

"Best gig ever. Plain and simple. No debate required"

Which I responded with some abuse. :D

Saw a couple of pics on the net and heard about Led Zepplin coming on and have been sat here revising feeling very bitter.

I`m now officially making up for missing Wembley and Manchester Foo`s gigs.

We were supposed to be going to Vegas in beginning of October and luckily we`d held off on the flights for a bit as we were seeing if any random deals came out and a couple of days ago the Foo`s have announced a couple of gigs in Vegas at the end of September to end their tour.

Managed to get pre-sale numbers off the net so tickets are now booked, flights soon to be arranged. :D
