There`s no question in my book,or our office.
Whenever we hear the first few chords of `Pretty Vacant` the radio gets turned right up. 8)

The motorbike revs and dogs barking at the start of Been Caught Stealing always gets me on my feet...
its the cue for three-odd mins of quality!

Very hard to beat Sweet Child O` Mine by Guns N` Roses but then that`s a whole other category of `Best guitar intros`. Not sure of the song names but there`s that Pink Floyd song that starts with ticking clocks and a Beatles track that starts with the sound of cash registers.

That one sounds like Money by Pink Floyd not The Beatles. It`s great in SACD surround.

All the best,

The 42%er.

It`s not easy being different. It`s not easy being cool....but somehow I manage....

You mean the theme tune to `Are you being served`.

The ticking clocks track is Time.
I`ve got Dark Side of the Moon on CD but it`s DTS. Somebody must have converted the discrete channels from the SACD and it is awesome. It`s great because surely far more people in the UK can play DTS than SACD. Maybe?.. Each money sound comes from a different corner of the room :D Many other tracks go swirling round the room too.
My favourite intro is Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Pink Floyd too). In a dark room. Wow.. :D

Not sure who it is, or even if it`s a track, but the intro tune from Time Team always goes right through me. You can imagine an emsemble of big drums beating it out. :)

Not really an intro as such, but if you listen to Foxtrot by Genesis, Horizons is a good candidate to a great intro to Supper`s Ready.

Also, again not really an intro to a song, but Neil Young in Rust Never Sleeps intro to Sugar Mountain at the beginning (approx 15mins) is great as Neil is revealed on top of an oversized Amp.

Intro to The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway on the same album, by genesis.

Pirates by ELP

Boys don`t cry by The Cure

Close to the Edge by Yes :D
