This is why...

...despite being on here asking (yet again) about details of new PC's I still won't be getting one.
Three weeks without hot water and three plumbers later we're just over £1800 quid out of pocket for a new central heating boiler. I'm not going to run through the whole saga other than to say that one had three goes at repairing the old one then just disappeared.
So there went any hope of a new PC this side of the next millenium.

Now the fridge freezer has packed up and having exceeded my pay grade with cleaning, checking and You Tubing I'm waiting for a guy to come on Wednesday to see if it's fixable. American style, side by side so worth trying to fix.

Life is really p***ing me off right now.

I realise central heating boilers are expensive, but on the white goods items like fridge freezers, you should take a tip out of my book.

I take the one years guarentee only, and never pay for extra years unless its a free deal.

I buy the cheapest but decent make/model I can, be it a fridge, a microwave, etc, and if it packs in after guarentee is up, I do not pussy foot around trying to get it fixed at extortionate repairman rates and transport costs, but instead just go out and buy another.

If I get more years out of it, before it packs in then thats a bonus.

Its a throwaway society now, so I don't repair (unless its an easy DIY fix). Just get another, as its nearly as cheap as attempting to get it repaired.

Ouch Snaps. :( Though nowhere near as bad, my car broke down at the vets last Friday, fuel pump died. I swear it knows the moment my bank looks like it might be in the black for a whole month.

Whilst I know you aren't getting a new PC for a while, when you do look at getting one again you should be able to get a pretty good reconditioned laptop for under £200.

Check out the price of American style side by side models before suggesting throw away Bandi. 7/8 hundred quid and fitted kitchen shaped round it.

Appreciate the suggestion about recon laptops but I'm after a desktop with a 24 inch monitor.
Recon desktops aren't really worth looking at.

Just have to buy another lottery ticket and keep dreaming.

on the plus side, by not buying a new PC, you have one less thing to go wrong.

there's those intel sticks which you can just plug into a tv, they're around £85. ok if you just want to surf the web a bit etc

It wasn't, coolant leak somewhere in the fabric of the whole thing.
