Kind of agree. They had to include Mainwaring but if the best support they could include was one line from Godfrey

Full disclosure: I was never really a fan anyway. As a young kid I just remember it as the 'grown ups' programme that preceded the dreaded news, so that's always tainted my memory of it. I do think they've got a pretty good cast though...

Couldn't stand it.  Along with 'Last of the Summer Wine', not interested in old people trying to be funny.

This sort of reminds me of the recent-ish attempt at a Three Stooges movie. Those cynical buggers Mike & Jay from RLM actually gave it a pass, and summed it up by saying: "If you want to watch a movie featuring actors pretending to be other actors playing roles, then go see it, because they do it very well", and I get a strong vibe of that from this.

The ensemble are all fine actors, but all this movie will allow them to do is to pretend to be other actors from decades ago who made those roles their own, and they are going to be horrifically huge boots to fill.

I wish them all the best, and I hope they manage to pull it off, even though it looks like tired old slapstick with a cobbled together plot with a reveal that couldn't be more obvious even if

SPOILER:
Catherin Zeta Jones is the German spy

I refer my honorable friend to Fly wheel Shyster & Flywheel on 4 extra.
Excellent job well done.

Well, I can say with confidence that my previous prediction was spot on. Competent actors portraying other actors from another time and doing quite well. Paper thin plot, no suspense or action, childish slapstick, and oscar-winning actors looking bored out of their minds for 90 minutes, and direction and editing that looks amateurish when compared to something as mundane as an episode of Midsomer Murders

Watched it in an audience of people old enough to have watched the original series on its first run, and they seemed to get some yuks out of it.

Not horrific, but a waste of time and money. Worth waiting until the DVD hits the bargain bin.

Well this is truly dismal by the sound of it.

Anyway, I am saving my cinema money for Kung Fu Panda 3, due out on the 3rd March. Always love Jack Black stuff

Seen enough of the Panda 3 trailer to know the whole plot, but loving it.
