Heh, yeah my first reaction too is urgh. I have one neutral feedback from a buyer who bid on an item listed as UK only, and was annoyed I wouldn't ship to Brazil.

But my main reason to resist it would be responsibility if it got lost in the post. This actually would make me far less resistant to doing it, if ebay are going to cover things.

Gave up selling when the post office changed to their expensive postal rates, and it was no longer worth it.

Plus you got buyers that wanted secondhand goods to be like new, even though any minor defects were mentioned in the sale.

So now I just buy only, less hastle.

Global shipping sent a oscilloscope 175 miles away to Kentucky (GSP HQ) where it was opened, inspected resealed with eBay packing tape (lousy packing box  by the seller), sent to Toronto then shipped over land to me to be dropped on the front deck (open & unsealed) in a damaged state without signing for.

Expected delivery was between 5- 7 days, but that translated into shipping it further away from me to Kentucky before ONWARD shipping.  The seller was perfectly happy to meet me on the Canadian side of the border (I had no Canuck Passport, travelling on UK one alone would have been "difficult") but just assumed I was in Kentucky from his enrolement in EGSP  as a default & as the winning bidder.

Who ever dropped broke it was between UPS, eBay & the final company.

Between chats with the seller.....

UPS had a guy turn up to inspect it in Kentucky when it was in Canada & he didn't fancy searching through a massive distribution center to find it & declared it was sent back to seller (with charges).

Final delivery co invited me to make a claim.

eBay finally settled with me & the seller, refunded all fee's & charges to both of us.

I ended up with a free scope that I was able to fix & a whopping big credit on my Paypal account.

These days I mostly buy locally (Including just over the border), UK shipped to family, or bulk electronic parts from HK.

A Tektronix 2246 100 MHz Oscilloscope, even before the refund I got it for a cheaper price ($227.50 instead of $260-280) than others sold by the same guy.
