I wonder where Stephen King got his idea from?

From Amazon.

Quote:
On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester`s Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener`s hand is severed as "the dome" comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when -- or if -- it will go away.

Apparently it`s an unfinished novel he tried to write twice back in the 80s, also it`s going to be his longest novel since IT, clocking in at a whopping 900 pages.

I have endured enough of his mega-long novels.

Is this one being published? I thought he had converted to only putting them online, or am I confusing him with another author? :/

I thought The Stand was well over 1000 pages?

I`m thinking The Simpsons Movie, but if he had the idea first...

No it`s being published.

The original version of The Stand was 734 pages, the extended version was 1007.

Under the Dome is his largest novel since IT, which was 1104 pages (re-edited original post).

The community-in-a-dome idea wasn`t even original when the Simpsons did it:

Ooooh excellent site! Cheers!

Love the quote:
