I`ve Just Had A Delivery........

Oor Wullie (Elite) posted this on Tuesday, 17th May 2005, 10:40

And when I opened the box it contained 20 bottles of various size of Stella. Also 8 cans. The box had Christmas Celebrations written on it. There is no invoice to tell me who sent it. All I had to do was sign for delivery. I asked the guy where it was from but he said "Don`t ask me mate. I only deliver".

Neither my wife or I drink lager (well, up until now..he,he,he) so what do I do? Better still what would you do? :/

I quite like the Helpdesk people in a benevolent (as opposed to malevolent) way as they do some valuable work in preventing us being inundated by every halfwit who can work a phone.

Enjoy it! :D

If anyone knocks on your door next week asking for it, tell them you sent it back...they`ll never know there was no return address!

There are laws covering this kind of thing.
You have to make reasonable attempts to contact the sender/delivery company to state the delivery was wrong.
Do it in writing (e-mail/fax/letter).
Once you`ve done that, sit back and wait.
Once a certain amount of time elapses ( I think it may be 6 months ) the stuff is legally yours.
I remember hearing/reading about a case of a woman who had a washing machine delivered wrongly.
No amount of protesting to the delivery company or supplier would change their mind,so she eventually got a washing machine for nowt ! 8)

The 1961 Ferrari 250 GT California, less than 100 were made. My father spent 3 years restoring this car.....it is his love.....it is his passion....."it is his fault he didn`t lock the garage!"

Bowfer. There is no return address. No delivery note and no invoice. Nothing at all to say where it came from.

I work in transport.
Although you may not have been given a copy of a delivery note the box almost certainly will have some sort of delivery company markings on it,especially as most/all of them use bar code labels these days.
It`s only fair that you make a bit of effort to contact the delivery company.
Imagine how hacked if you`d be if it were your consignment that you had sent,or were waiting for.
