I`m sure some people don`t understand the point of eBay

Ben Franklin (Reviewer) posted this on Wednesday, 6th April 2005, 09:00

Sold a book on eBay, which went on Friday. Finally the buyer contacted me today with:

Quote:
"Hi Ben,

I thought I paid for it through PayPal? I do not really need it now - do I
still have to buy it?

Please let me know."

They haven`t paid by Paypal, I hasten to add. This kind of thing really p***es me off. >:(

Oh my God, Bear is driving! How can that be?

Give them the usual ebay quote about placing a bid is entering into a contact etc.

State the rules of ebay to him, that when the sale ends the highest bidder HAS to pay for the item.

I`m having a running battle with a right stupid cow right now.
I sold one of the wife`s bags for £20.00.
The woman`s cheque arrived so,because it was such a small sum,I decided to rely on trust and sent the bag.
Lo and behold the cheque `bounces` and costs me £ 6.00.
So I contact the stupid bitch by e-mail and she comes out with the biggest cock and bull story I`ve ever heard..

"I called you and you denied all knowledge of the bag,so I stopped the cheque" :/

Now I received no call because my number isn`t shown on e-bay so,basically, the bitch is lying. >:(
I still haven`t been paid.
She has now spoiled things for future, honest, buyers.
I will now wait until ALL cheques clear, regardless of how small the sum.

I maybe sell 5 - 10 things a week on ebay and every week there will be at least one of those buyers that doesn`t pay.

It really p***es me off, it`s a waste of time, ebay do nothing about it and you don`t get your listing fees back - just the end of auction fees.

If you leave negative feedback the buyer can leave you a neg - even tho they didn`t pay! it`s a joke really.

Totally agree. There just really isn`t that much you can do at the end of the day. Can you ask eBay to remove negative feedback from your account if you feel that it is unfair?

Feel sorry for you bowfer, some people just take the p*** when it comes to that type of thing. :(

And the negative feedback thing is true as well - and whats to stop someone from just opening another account?

I suppose at least in my case she was asking whether she had to pay for it, rather than refusing to.

They never do anything, you just get standard responses telling you to read the feedback terms etc.

Makes a mockery of feedback really as I have often not left negatives for non-paying bidders in case they leave me one.

Got one at the moment, he bought a minidisc player for £28, he has 9 positives - no negs but hasn`t paid and the auction ended a month ago. He doesn`t respond to emails or the invoices/ unpaid item reminders sent through ebay - what do you do? >:(

file a non paying bidder form with ebay, ebay will contact the buyer & give them a chance to respond, eventually you will get the majority of you`re fee`s back, then neg the buyer, we recently got a "retaliation" feedback from another ebayer (i neged them cos they lied about an item we won, they then said they lost the item but immediately re-listed it :/ cos they wanted more money for it ) ebay banned the user & removed the neg they left us :D

Bowfer, I assume youve still got the womans mailing address? If so, youre a better man than me.

She would have got several dogs***s and the contents of my cats litter tray by now.

Im normally quite mild mannered, but Im quite big on revenge for some reason. I find it really satisying......
When i was a kid I was beaten up by a local shop keeper when he was p***ed and he mistook me for someone who had previously put his window through. Big mistake. I put broke his shop window so many times I got bored in the end.

Anyway.....like I said, since ebay wont do anything, the only thing left is payback. Just make sure you dont post it from your postcode.......
