Adobe didn't pull their advertising from Gawker, they weren't advertising on them anyway:
http://blogs.adobe.com/conversations/2014/10/when-anti-bullying-efforts-backfire.html?adbid=527179560870096896&adbpl=tw&adbpr=63786611&scid=social34572897

The guy who analysed the twitter data, who is open about being anti-gamergate, and also made his data freely available for others to check:
https://medium.com/message/72-hours-of-gamergate-e00513f7cf5d

I think the closing statement of that article is very apt:

Quote:
This network visualization is as good a metaphor as any for #Gamergate. Two massive, impenetrable hairballs of people that want little to do with one another, only listening to their side and firing volleys across the chasm.

Oh and another article from Anita Sarkeesian called "It's over for 'gamers'" which should stir things up if they were settling down:

Rob Shepherd says...

This is sadly true of pretty much any debate or argument that is carried out on the internet, especially when it becomes political like this one has. Not being able to speak face to face with people allows them to sort of dehumanise those who disagree and see them only as a faceless enemy, rather than people with ideas and feelings.

Then again, when the two sides are arguing two completely different points, there's not going to be much useful discourse.

On a pleasant note, Gamespot and Eurogamer have now joined the list of sites offering full disclosure in their reviews and articles.

Quinn's patreon currently stands at $3644.10 per month. This has exploded since #GamerGate began and keeps growing with every interview she gives. Being a professional victim pays big time!

Meanwhile, The Colbert Report did a segment on #GamerGate and it was as predictable, lazy and biased as you might imagine. Filled with the same old gamer-shaming stereotypes and not a single mention of any of the events that have occured over the past two and a half months. It was all just an advert for Sarkeesian's youtube channel. Celebrity status: achieved.

Still, it was great fun seeing Anita being asked to name three offending video games, only to come up short (he quickly moved on when he saw that she was struggling).

Oh, and The Verge did an article claming that #GamerGate is dead. Again. Respawning in 3, 2, 1...

I wonder if the GamerGate masses might be better throwing their ire at YouTube channels instead...

it's times like this...

Quote:
A pair of YouTubers were paid $45,000 between them to publish two video reviews each, both of which beamed positive messages about Xbox One without stating that they were paid endorsements
you really do question decisions you made in the past, and think "I really am in the wrong line of work" ;)

Quinn drops charges:

A depressing read, can't imagine what it's like to have such bile thrown in you and your families direction.

BBC Three edits female gamers out of context:
http://blogjob.com/oneangrygamer/2016/02/female-gamers-speak-out-against-bbc-unethically-misconstruing-interviews/

Quote:
Various gamers interviewed for the BBC Three’s short documentary about gaming are speaking up after an 11 minute piece was published featuring various journalists, live-streamers and YouTube personalities speaking out about the horrors of sexism in gaming. So why are they speaking up and speaking out after being featured in the mini-documentary? Well, it’s because some of them didn’t think that their interviews would be hacked up and cut down to push out a flamebait piece centered around gender politics.

Of all the biased media coverage of this whole ordeal, that BBC episode was probably the most egregious.

Oddly enough, at the same time a somewhat more balanced article was posted on the BBC Three website:
