What did you do with your old DVDs?

I have a fair few Region 1 DVDs now that I've replaced with Blu-ray, and I have no idea what to do with them. :/

I doubt they'll sell on ebay, and with automatic bots from some companies always making sure theirs is the cheapest on Amazon, usually at 1p, that route seems pointless.

Charity shops are an option, but I wonder if they'll cause more trouble when they get returned as they wont play on most people's machines.

What are you guys doing with the old ones when you upgrade?

Screw DVDs, I've still got some VHS tapes I have to shift!

Actually, as long as I have a DVD player hooked up to a old TV, I'm keeping the DVDs for when I can't get at the HD screen. It's not like they take up 'that' much room.

I made R0 copies of me R1 DVDs and put them in the case with the original.

will be keeping DVDs for a while longer trip to the tip with VHS tapes was depressing :( If it hadn't been for the girls we would probably still have them!

My cousin is roughly a decade behind with technology, so my full collection went to him. He's still bashing away on my original Xbox.

God, aren't second hand DVds worthless these days, when I think what some of my earlier discs cost back in the day of having to import R1! lol

I still have a huge DVD collection, but those movies I've replaced on Blu-Ray I have either batched up and taken to CEX for very little return (R2 only, obviously) or sold through local Facebook groups. I do have a small pile of R1 discs that I just couldn't sell though, and they sit forgotten in my office, as I cannot bring myself to thrown them away.

Thanks guys, glad it's not just me. Don't really want to keep hold of them if I've upgraded. Maybe I'll try selling as joblots on ebay.
