I`m with you Pete-MK.

I liked it, but in a dumb action flick sense of it being quite entertaining and not terrible, rather than it being great.

Don`t think I`d be looking to watch it again anytime soon and also wouldn`t be overly excited on the expected sequels.

I don't think he forgot; he didn't know. Gypsy Danger had been upgraded since he last piloted it. As for the rad shielding, I think they said it was a case of having limited time to build the Jaegers.

Fair enough, I kinda twigged about the sword thing, but the first rule of building anything nuclear-powered is to shield those operating the machine (e.g. nuclear-powered satellites)

Yeah, I`m not sure if it was a case of there being no shielding, but rather sub-standard/inadequate shielding.

More than likely

Just watched Mike & Jay`s review on RLM and I pretty much agree with them (which isn`t always the case. i disgreed with their opinions on both Man of Steel AND Star Trek 2). Mike describes it best as the best Asylum movie made

Saw this last night for the first time, I think you summed up my feelings too. It was entertaining enough, but the script was just so dreadful and cliched to the point of almost watching a Ben Stiller movie.

Idris Elba was really corny, but nothing compared to Burn Gorman who was hamming it up more than the entire British contingent combined.

I'm shocked Del Toro directed it, I thought the Hellboy movies were so much better.

Nice visually though, in a seen-it-all-before-countless-times kind of way.

I just saw this the other day too. Not terribly memorable. Burn Gorman's ott acting made another appearance in Game of Thrones recently.
