Yeah, the timing of the latest rumours is a bit off given the amount of time he's put into it, but it's a real passion project. He made a similar set on DVD a while back (of which I have a copy) sourced from the Laserdiscs, before Lucasfilm released them as bonus DVDs.

He's staring working on Empire this week, so hopefully everything will be finished soon.

You'll only regret it when they release the original trilogy in the theatrical unruined versions and the prequels with the Jar Jar binks and lame comedy moments removed.

They're not even that nice. I saw the US release advertised the other day and it struck me just how much of a missed opportunity they are, visually speaking.
