Page 1 of Oriental Horror Films

Does anyone know where I can find cheap, uncut horror films from the Oriental area? Stuff like Audition and Ichi the Killer.

DDDHouse is cheap, but the flicks are cut.. In fact, Ichi the killer is so badly cut that it is about ten mins long, and has turned into one of those "charly says" videos.

I`m looking for some really disturbing sh*t as I havn`t have a good scare in a while. I missed Audition when it was on C4 and really wanna watch it. Anything like that would be VERY interesting to me.

If you find anything, could you let me know?

Ichi the killer is D.I.S.T.U.R.B.I.N.G but not scary... There is a new one coming out about a girl who wears a wig that posseses her - or something. That looks pretty interesting, because in most of these films people are scary just because they have long black wigs on..
So, maybe its a subversion of the genre....

the two sisters one is good, plus all the usual suspects, dark water, suicide circle, any Takeshi stuff...

I`ll watch that when I see it out.

Ichi isn`t horror, but it is fairly mental. Get the uncut R1 or European R2 (if you can find it), as our R2 release is cut by three minutes. Mostly just sexual violence though, so if you`re not that bothered it`s worth having for the commentary track and the superior image.

Gozu is meant to be another severely disturbed Miike film (according to one of our US contributors). Save the Green Planet is also supposed to be a tad unsettling, but I`ve not seen that so I can`t comment. None of it is really `horror` though.

Save the green planet is a bit unsettling. But its also funny. Unsettlingly funny.....best analogy would be Evil Dead.......actually thats not a great analogy, but its in a reasonably similar ball park.....mildly horrific with tongue in cheek....Thats actually doing it a bit of a disservice actually.....Its a great film in its own right.

Its certainly worth a watch but I dont think it falls into your horror/disturbing category.
