Amazon with their two for £10 Blu-ray offer again

Jitendar Canth (Reviewer) posted this on Tuesday, 19th August 2014, 14:15

Here it is!

The problem for me was that there was only one title that I definite about, and about fifty I was um-ing and ah-ing about. So I wound up getting it by itself from Base.com, plus the Ghostbusters 1 & 2 double pack (My first Blu-ray double dip. I'm so proud), which was two quid cheaper than Amazon, so it all kind of worked out anyway...

Is this the only way to get Ghostbusters II atm? :( I bet Ghostbusters 1 isn't even the 4K master version and literally identical to the existing release I already have.

GB1 is the 4k version... with new extras as indicated on the rear cover at The Hut

I thought there was a  single disc release of GB2 on the same day. Looks like the Bar Stewards cancelled it!

The US are still getting the single release on the same day as the twin pack, Sept 16th...

I caved. :( Donnie Darko was cheap on Base and it wasn't that much of a stretch to pop G1&2 in my basket.

GB 1 & 2 came in today. I can't believe I vacillated this long over the 4k version of Ghostbusters. It is so much better! The difference was obvious from the off. It seems clearer, more detailed, and with richer colours. What I was worrying about, reduced brightness dulling the effects shots, doesn't happen. Instead you get more detail and structure in things like Gozer's lightning, or the proton beams.

I like.

Mine came today too! I think tonight when the sun goes down is Ghostbusters night. And so is tomorrow. :)

I may well have a crack as well, even though I like the original blu-ray...

I need to put my older version in again, the colours in the 4K version seemed a tiny bit too saturated for my tastes. The print didn't really leap out at me as being more detailed either.

Maybe it's time I did another split-screen comparison!

Still, Ghostbusters 2 tomorrow night!
