Adsl Price drop

Adsl price drop for whole sale should be announced Tommorow being Tuesday late morning.. Looks like pipex adsl could be getting even cheaper! :)

Hmm...

Don`t think so. Pipex may have cracked the market open, but they ain`t stoopid! They`ll just keep the price the same and so increase their profit margin (and why not? after all, they did dive in with both feet, so good luck to them).

What it may do is kick the likes of the AOL/Freeserve mob up the jackse and we`ll start to see more offers like the Pipex deal.

Pipex are on record as saying that if BT do drop the wholesale price, they will follow suit, nice guys that they are.

Well I just hope the cost of BTs broadband service falls as its depressing watching all you Pipex boys snapping up this cheap, soon to get cheaper, service!!! :-(

Here we go. Details on the BBC page:

If the wholesale price has gone down a tenner, let`s hope that means the price to us goes down a tenner as well. With any luck we`ll see more Pipex-type deals at about £20/month...

Wait and see I guess!

The main problme is that BT are dragging their heels upgrading the exchanges - I`ve been trying for about 2 years to see if exchanges near me have been done and so far - NAFF ALL !!!

So even if prices drop - as long as they aren`t upgrading the exchanges it won`t make any difference !!

Its a marketing ploy at the moment to boost the shares price for shareholders - it won`t make them do it any faster ......

This morning BT said they are cutting wholesale adsl price to £14.75 from £25. Good news for all !!!

Effective from 1st April they say...

Anyone heard yet of suppliers putting their prices down in response?
Post here if you do...!

Mikey, i`m sure I read somewhere that BT were suspending the upgrading of exchanges. If that is true it makes a mockery of reducing prices if you can`t join in. Still, we`ll have to just wait and see...........

I believe I read that BT is looking to resume Exchange upgrades but they are looking for a partner to help on this front (i.e. - they don`t have the cash themselves to it by themselves!)
