RE: Freedom2surf - Your comments please

You never know until you have joined!
Well, at the time I was impressed by all their customers reviews and their price.
But when I had a problem (download speed crawling at 5kbps) and reported a problem with them - their reply was `check your hardware and try replacing your microfilters`.
At the time, MANY users were complaining of the same problem in the forum, the support took the easy option of `try changing your filters`.. eh? you mean everyone who has reported the same problem to check their filters?

RE: Freedom2surf - Your comments please

I have migrated to them for a few months now, I would say they are ok/average.
Lots of their users in www.adslguide.org.uk claim f2s to be really good, and very supportive in slagging off other dissatisfied customers - which I don`t like.
Their support will `selectively` answer simple queries in the forum - BUT they will stay quiet when something goes wrong.

Pay the extra few quids and go with BT!

USB 1.1 or 2.0??

Anyone know how to find out what version of USB ports you have on your desktop/laptop?

I bought my laptop approx 2 years ago, not sure if it will support USB2.

Thanks in advance.

RE: Sky + £49.95 + bonus

is it possible to connect other devices to Sky+ for recording? Does it only record channels available in Sky+ or is there an input for other devices.

RE: Looking for a good student Broadband ISP

Virgin changed their terms 2 months ago. There`s a charge of £50 to leave within 12 months. But if you consider free connection, free modem, free to transfer to another line after leaving Uni - then the deal is still good.

RE: Days out vouchers Free L@@K

nice one!
2-for-1 at local Vue cinema just what I wanted.

Thanks.

RE: Free calls with BT communicator

I signed up on Wed 15 June around 8pm, no confirmation about free headsets at the time - but received them on Thu 23 June.

RE: Mobile phone subsidy code?

??? the guy wanted to unlock his phone - what are you talking about?
PAC code is to migrate the mobile number to another network.

To unlock your phone, your network provider will provide you with an unlock code for a charge (usually around 15 pounds). Some will only provide this after you have been connected for at least a month.
Alternatively, some dodgy mobile phone shops can do them on the spot for around a tenner. I don`t recommend the risky options of buying this code from dodgy websites.

RE: how do I give notice to 3 when contract ends?

thanks jacket. So I take it that no written notice is required - just phone them up at the end of month 11.

how do I give notice to 3 when contract ends?

Anyone know what to do when the 12 months contract is up with this company? Can`t find anything on their website.

Can I start the notice period from month 11 and be out at the end of month 12?

Any advice would help.
Thanks

RE: Chatterbox Lies...

finally got the money today - not worth the hassle, next time I`ll stick with the big companies even if it means less cashback and longer redemption period.

Thanks for the help from wilsof and clayts.

RE: Chatterbox Lies...

they`re winding me up!!!!

I faxed a letter to them, asked them for a response by today or I`ll seek legal advice, guess what..... they replied to an email I sent 3 days ago with the same message [b]"your claim has been received and the amount will be credited to your account within 2 weeks"

they are b*stards !!!

RE: Chatterbox Lies...

clayts - so you managed to get your cashback within 28days? that`s amazing. Mine was sent off on 15 Jan by recorded delivery which they have acknowledged - but they keep telling to wait 2 more weeks. Have you still got the fax no. they gave you? I might fax them a letter if you do.

willsof - I sent another email yesterday to all the contacts you`ve provided but without the legal threats, so far no response.

Still waiting....

RE: Chatterbox Lies...

I have tried onestopphoneshop about 18 months ago and they process the claims effectively. Got cheque back in less than 14 days. Also able to speak to their customer services without any trouble or waiting on the phone.

But things might have changed, so don`t blame me if it goes wrong!

Just for your interest, 4 years ago I took out a 12 months free line rental with mobilesmadeeasy.com and successfully claimed all my cashback. But a few months later their website was removed and I guess they must be trading in a different name now.

RE: Chatterbox Lies...

I have been waiting for almost 9 weeks now, every time I chased them with an email, they seem to reply within 1 week saying they have received the claim and the cashback will be in my account within 2 weeks.

It will be another 2 weeks on Friday. I`ll let you know how it goes....

BTW, did you get all cashbacks after 6 months or have they changed the rules to split this into month 6, 9, 12?
