Full trailer looks better I hope :)
Ok so the fact that I loved the original has not helped but the lead seems so miscast to me, I will continue with it for a few more episodes and hope the cast grow on me but with so many favourites returning I dont like its chances, baffled why Scott Bakula isn't in some way involved

Watched ep 1, it's ok, it's lacking something, feels a bit "sci fi channel" if you know what I mean from any of their own shows ;)
The lead is good as a supporting actor in "Kevin can f*** himself" (wwaw) but I don't think is charismatic enough for lead.
Like you, loved the original so will prob see if it grows on me

just watched ep 2 and 3, I want to like it, sort of seems like it's trying too hard with the "X-Files" like other story in the background, which I don't remember us ever having before?
i think it suffers from as well as the lead not being as likeable, the assistant isn't as likeable as Al, even though they have a relationship
having said that, ep 3 does want me to give it another go :) (just going to double check this isnt the she hulk thread)

So quick thanks to admars, I had pretty much given up after 2 episodes but had continued to download the episodes and decided to give it a further go after your comments and up to episode 7 now and it has gotten better so I am now in for the leap
so its ok just, but episode 12, the trans episode was soooo bad, incredibly and brutally forced I found, talk about in your face, in completely pro trans people and I can't even imagine how hard it is for them and family, friends but I struggled to finish this, and as pro trans as I am I 100% disagree with male to female trans athletes competing against women just on fairness, men on the whole are inherently stronger and faster and for that reason can't compete fairly
it's a shame, there had been a couple of poor ones again, and then the Groundhog Day one was good,
then this one started off with promise, but then felt like I was being lectured at. Good intentions but handled badly, doubt it's going to change anyone's mind of how they think, but hopefuly it will help some ppl?
Kids tv nowadays discusses these themes much better than this did. It was funny one time they were watching Power Rangers with my parents, and they were talking about it, and one of the kids said "no grandad, she's not going out with him, she's a lesbian, she likes her"
my dad just looked at me and said "I had never even heard that word let alone knew what it meant at that age" :)
The wasre an Australian program about a boy who dresses as a girl and goes to a girl school, but is too young to be transitioning, so just has to pretend. Was quite interestingly, and gives the kids opportunity to ask questions, but generally, they're being introduced to these things so young, they just don't care and it's all normal to them.
But you know, when we were kids, celeb being gay was front page headline of the tabloids, now daytime tv and radio presenters talk quite freely about their partners.
A friend has child changing from male to female, they're a teenager, and he said the normal parent child arguments escalate quicker, as when they say "you don't know what it's like" he can't respond "I was young once" as obviously that's not the real issue, especially as the poor kid has had attempts to through them down the stairs at school etc :(
on the other hand, there was someone in my office, a few people knew they were transitioning, most didn't, until one day they came in the office in women's clothes. I'm told HR were supportive, and as his line manager said to me "I don't really care as long as they do their job properly". luckily their team was a nice bunch of ppl, and they could all joke together about reminding the trans person how to sit when wearing a skirt!
It probably helped that at Christmas parties there's a a few ppl who have brought their same sex partners, and it's as a whole quite a young group of people.
The sports argument was handled well in south park, where a male athlete "decides" to be a woman to use their WWE style physiqe to unfair advantage :)
this weeks was ok again, the Sam story was a bit cliche, but nice enough, it's the "back in the office" story which is still more interesting
