couldn't agree more with Pete, its an absolute triumph from start to finish, I think the fact I had zero clue what it was actually going to be helped, but a fascinating storyline held the numerous threads together effortlessly, great cast who all nailed it, the lead was exceptional in every way but

SPOILER:
I did think Ricci was obviously going to be the mail baddy and thought that was lazy booking, would have preferred her as the head tbh, small gripe thoughbetter be a second series ASAP

Episode one watched with no great expectations just cropped up in mentions all over so though I'd see what the fuss was.
Jenna Ortega is perfect.
Gwendoline Christie equally so
I'm definitely on board with this one.

Luiz Guzman is still all kinds of wrong though.

Yeah. If there's a low point to series, it's him. He's just not a good fit for the role. But he probably bribed the casting agent just so he could cop off with Catherine (who's an old friend, but I don't llike to talk about it)

He is definitely more a gangster choice for the role, thought it's always going to be hard to choose anyone after Raul Julia. You could go back to someone closer to the original series but I think the movies supplanted those roles in a lot of people's minds already.

I thought he was pretty close to John Astin from the TV series in general characterisation.
Angelica Huston though was perfection. Not seen enough of Zeta Jones but I don't think she'll come close.

I did really enjoy it, so this is just minor grumbling...

SPOILER:
Who was the monster and who was controlling it was easy to guess early on, well maybe predictable?

But also, this is an excellent lesson in how constantly being totally wrong and other people suffering from your bad decisions shouldn't impact your progress in any way. 😂
